Two Parking Tickets Purchased

Hello,
As everyone, I don't like it when Parking Companies take
advantage of people.
A few weeks ago, I entered a car park, parked my car and entered
my old registration plate into the Parking machine. I spotted my
error after paying.
I purchased another ticket with my correct registration and went
about my day.
This didn't sit too well, as I was forced to pay for a second
ticket. The signage does not mention that there are nor refunds
for mistakes, but it does say PCNs will be issued.
Of course, I didnt get a PCN, but I have been emailing the land
owner requesting a refund for the mistake. As you can imagine,
this hasn't gone anywhere. I wonder whether there is any
precedent about this happening before and what can be done.
I would love to see how far I can push this, so far they have
sent me copies of their terms, which do not state refunds will
not be given. As in, there is no wording for what happens if you
buy two tickets by accident. They will won't budge on refunding
though.
Interested to hear people's thoughts on this.

Whilst one could argue that an ethical company might offer
refunds where there is user error (perhaps minus a fee for any
costs they incurred as a result), I can't see that you have any
right to one. The extra expense was due to a mistake on your
part, not that of the parking company or landowner.

Even if you paid by card, I expect any attempt at a chargeback
would be met with the bank going "No". If you pushed a lot
harder (and perhaps had been a long term customer of said bank
or credit card company) then the bank would probably just refund
you out of their own pocket and close any case.
Whilst I also believe almost all PPCs (maybe there are some out
there that aren't) are bottom feeding defecation orifices, and
that there should be some common sense, I guess common sense
doesn't earn money, hence why they seem to lack any at all.
