Beckton Triangle Retail Park - Ticket for parking outside of the
       bay
   DIR By: simat
       Date: August 22, 2026, 5:21 am
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Claimant: UK Parking Control Ltd (UKPC)
       Solicitors: DCB Legal Ltd
Court: Civil National Business Centre (CNBC)
Claim Issue Date: 11 August 2026
Location: Claimant: UK Parking Control Ltd (UKPC)
       Solicitors: DCB Legal Ltd
Court: Civil National Business Centre (CNBC)
Claim Issue Date: 11 August 2026
Location: Beckton Triangle Retail Park, London E6 6LG
       Background
UK Parking Control Ltd has issued a County Court claim against
me relating to an alleged parking contravention on 21 February
       2026.
The Particulars of Claim state that my vehicle was:
"Not Parked Correctly Within The Markings Of The Bay Or Space"
       and seek:
       £170.00 parking charge and damages;
       statutory interest;
       court fees and costs.
The claim is brought against me as driver and, alternatively, as
registered keeper under Schedule 4 of the Protection of Freedoms
       Act 2012.
       My Position
I was the driver of the vehicle.
I accept that the vehicle was temporarily positioned partially
       outside a marked bay. However:
I remained inside the vehicle at all times.
I was attending to my young child.
The vehicle was only in that position for a short period
       (approximately five minutes or less).
I subsequently moved the vehicle myself into another bay.
The parking attendant did not approach me, speak to me, warn me
of any alleged breach or provide an opportunity to reposition
the vehicle. They took a picture of the back of the car and the
       front of the car.
       Signage Issues
My Defence disputes that a parking contract was formed because
the relevant parking terms were not adequately brought to my
       attention.
Since filing my Defence, I have revisited the site and taken
       photographs showing that:
There was no visible signage from the driver's position where
       the vehicle was located.
The sign relied upon by UKPC in its evidence is situated on a
side road, out of sight from the relevant parking location.
The sign is approximately 80 metres from where the vehicle was
       parked.
The sign is not visible from the location where the vehicle was
       stationary.
I have photographic evidence supporting these points.
       Procedural History
County Court Claim issued: 11 August 2026
       Acknowledgment of Service filed.
Defence filed online: 16 August 2026
       I would like advice on:
The strength of the defence based on the alleged lack of visible
signage and the distance/location of the sign relied upon by
       UKPC.
Whether the additional £70 added to the original parking charge
       is recoverable.
Whether any further steps should be taken following the filing
       of my Defence.
The best way to present and rely upon the photographic evidence
showing the signage location and visibility issues.
       Documents available:
       Claim Form
       Particulars of Claim
       Filed Defence
       UKPC photographs
My photographs of the site and signage locations
Any correspondence from UKPC/DCB Legal, London E6 6LG

       Please post relevant documents, see
  HTML https://www.ftla.uk/private-parking-tickets/read-this-first-private-parking-charges-forum-guide/<br
/>if you haven't done so yet.
Without these, you know more than we do and we can't advise you
       sensibly.
Why are you identifying the driver? Normally you have no need to
do this and it’s to your disadvantage if you do so.
You say that you filed a defence - what did it say?
There is a well trodden path with DCB Legal which you can see if
you search for similar cases on the forum. DCB Legal will very
likely discontinue the county court claim as long as you defend
it properly, and the next thing you should do is to research
       what’s necessary to do this.

       Hi,
I regrettably filed a response in haste, but there is no signage
where the car was parked and the company is relying on a sign
which is on a side road.
The map shows the path followed to go shopping in Aldi.
The red and blue circle is the location of the parking bay.
The red and yellow circle is where the signage is placed - this
is out of sight and I can't understand how the company can rely
       on this.

Unless I have lost the plot I cannot see any documentation signs
including signs with circles etc.If you shopped in Aldi they
could have possibly cancelled. I believe you have received N1
form and have submitted your defence form. If these are
available along other documents please post.

These are some other images of the area, for context:
They include the only signage available, which was placed by
       Newham council against anti-social behaviour
       - two pictures of the car park in front of Aldi from a distance
       - pictures of the 'side road' and the signage on this road; this
is where the sign that has been used in evidence against me, is
       located.
