50J issued by council - advice needed

Hi everyone,
I would appreciate some advice regarding my pcn
The PCN relates to Ducks Hill Road / Northgate, Northwood, at
17:32 on 27/07/2026.
I was travelling along Ducks Hill Road and turned left into
Northgate.
I use this route regularly. On this particular day, however, I
had to take a detour and was looking for somewhere suitable to
stop because my 5-year-old child urgently needed to use a
toilet. I turned left into Northgate while looking for somewhere
appropriate to stop.
I wasn't deliberately trying to ignore the restriction, I just
missed it because i was so distracted.
I would be grateful if someone could have a look at the PCN
hn72038943 and advise if there are any grounds for appealing
this.
Thank you in advance for any advice.

We'll happily look at your PCN when you post it up here ! Please
read this and update your thread accordingly: -
HTML http://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/
Only redact name and address
We need to see the PCN to check it for fatal errors that win
appeals on their own regardless of the contravention.
Looking at your approach on Google Street View, the signs would
seem to be against you, because there is a clear No RightLeft
Turn sign as you approach : -
HTML https://maps.app.goo.gl/qzKLgM5nWZzZRJ4D7
However, this is a 2016 view and it could be foliage has
obscured the sign, and, indeed a bus or high sided vehicle will
obscure that sign and also the restriction signs at the entrance
to the street: -

Yes, you can see the blue sign above the bus, but that's only
because the Google SV camera is mounted on the top of a van. You
in a car would not see it, so there is plenty to play for if
you're prepared to risk the full PCN penalty. I say this,
because the council will reject any reps you submit, because all
they want is your money.

Website issues!
I would also try to enter a valid gground of appeal ito the box
on the top and screeshoot the results.
I believe some cases have been won on this issue.
50J - Performing a prohibited turn
We will consider your appeal according to our appeals policy. If
your reason for appeal is not listed in the policy, we are
unlikely to accept it. However we will still consider your case
individually.

No worries. Compare the website with the grounds on the PCN.
