W'ham Council PCN / 01 Parked in a restricted street / Market
Place, Loading bay

Dear Advisors,
On 06/08/26 I was given a PCN by Wokingham Council parked on
Loading Bay outside Rober Dyas Shop on Market Place
Contrvention: 01 Parked in a restricted street during precribed
hours
I read the sign I had belived was OK to park after 7pm, but may
have gotten confused with the top and bottom half of the sign
being separate which made it harder to interpret
PCN Ticket :- CW02956568

Wait for others, but shouldn't this be 'No waiting on a taxi
rank' and, given what appears to be the breadth of the yellow
line which is more akin to a stopping marking than waiting,
perhaps even 'No stopping...'.
OP, you must have seen this line in the flesh. Does it look like
a 'normal' single yellow line?

hi tincombe
No, i didnt notice the yellow line as the whole street setup is
non-standard, semi-pedestrianised area with no raised kerb etc
and included white-dotted bay markings, to indecate an official
on-road parking bay. Then i saw the 7am - 7pm sign, and being
after 9pm thought i wouldnt have an issue. The whole idea of
this not being useable after 7pm is a joke, I am a resident and
with the amount of council tax i pay, its rediculous we are not
able to park there to enjoy the towns amenities "after-hours"
if you look futhur along the road, there you can see official
double-yellow markings with proper raised kerb, whereby you know
whats what
Red box is where i was parked

Council expect me to see this as an normal yellow line !!

The PCN location is Market Place not Denmark Street.

Indeed it is, but Market Place becomes Denmark St, and GSV does
not show where the names change. Look at the map zoomed in and
you'll see what I mean.
I don't think there is any mileage in the street name, tbh.

Wokingham has a traffic order map but oddly it only displays
off-street orders.
I'll see if I can find the on-street order.

OP, you posted the picture with a 'red box' and a rather broad
yellow line prominent at the back of the bay.
We all think our CT bills are too high, I wouldn't go there.
By all means make informal reps within the 14-day period and
then we can 'stress test' their response.
Are you the registered keeper with current DVLA details?
