Airport drop off dispute

Hi all,
I received a letter regarding a vehicle registered to me
relating to an unpaid drop off charge at Gatwick Airport.
I contested this as I have done before in the usual manner
siting byelaws etc.
However on this occasion rather than cancelling the ticket, as
they have no grounds to charge or pursue registered keeper and I
am not obligated to provide the drivers details. They responded
asking me to send in my driving licence as proof that I was not
driving.
Of course I didn’t send this due to my privacy and concerns
where my details would end up.

How do you think I should proceed with this now?

Appeal to the IAS in the knowledge that it will cost the parking
company something like £23, even if the IAS hardly ever upholds
valid appeals, you simply appeal on the same basis, perhaps
including a quote from the legislation.

How could giving your driving licence details prove that you
were or weren't driving a particular vehicle at a particular
time?

After i appeal to their IAS under that same grounds, what
happens next? Can anyone tell me please?

We can’t predict the future, so if you search the forum as
suggested you will find many examples of what has happened in
the past. There are other cases with Times/NCP at Gatwick
Airport which you can read.
Generally the parking company will engage a debt collector who
will send you scary letters with red ink, then you will be sent
a county court claim to which you have a defence, and many cases
are discontinued by the claimant before having to pay the court
fee if they are properly defended.
You have to understand that many court claims are ignored, so a
judgment in default is awarded. Or people get frightened into
paying. But it’s not worth the while of the claimant paying for
someone to attend court for £100-£200, which is why they often
discontinue.
But we can’t promise anything, other than that if you own the
process and deadlines you will get advice on the process here.

Many thanks. I will keep you posted on the process and take the
advice given.
For now I will wait until the final few days to lodge my appeal
to the IAS they have supplied and go from there.
In the meantime, how do i stand if in the rejection of sending
my DL I also asked them to send me the 10 digit code and they
didn’t?
Here is what I sent.
"I have fulfilled my obligations under the Protection of
Freedoms Act 2012 by notifying you that I was not the driver.
You have no legal authority to demand my driving licence or
personal identification. Please process the appeal with the
information provided or issue my independent appeal code."
