Buses also use this route. Can we access their cameras to prove
the junction was closed and diversions were in place ?

But even if you find there was a diversion, you would likely
come up against this obstacle at adjudication:
Road diversion signs are advisory, not legally mandatory. Their
purpose is to help drivers navigate around closures, but they do
not legally compel you to take that route. You can use your own
knowledge or a sat-nav to find an alternative, provided you
don't breach other driving laws.
