The Bunch (energy supplier) final bill

Sadly had no knowledge of the many negative reviews online
before using this supplier. Term's ended and have now got an
email with a final bill of over 1900£.
For context, moved in May last year to a fully electric one bed
flat, single occupier, EPC C. Paid over 140£ monthly via direct
debit (comes to 1700£ over the 12 month term.)
Initial reaction: "electric, therefore more expensive." Switched
suppliers to Scottish gas, now pay just over 50£ monthly. (a
180% decrease!) Ofgem cap just over 1800£ for this period. Has
the 'final bill' (1900£) come out of thin air?
Moved from a two bed flat with two occupiers, same EPC,
electricity and gas supplied by EOn Next. Bills were rarely over
120. Occasional 150 in a colder month.
Written a strongly worded email per their complaints process and
ready to take this to the ombudsman/take legal action.
Any insight much appreciated.

Sorry, Doris Stokes has sadly passed to the other side.

Monthly payments are generally irrelevant unless they match your
actual usage.
Is the charge demanded correct? I.e. your actual usage…
