Speeding camera hidden deliberately 52 in a 40 limit

Hi All,
I am checking the experts on this forum. I was given a NIP for
doing 52 in a 40 limit. Was just going to take the 3 points and
£100 Fine. But I checked the camera on my way back throough that
road and there was a light pole in front it with big 2 foot
wide blank metal panel strapped to it. I took pictures and happy
to private message any reponders with the pictures.
I checked the law on obstructing cameras and I suspect they
might be breaking their own law. There is a logo on the back of
the sign that points to [link removed by mod]
If I am right this sign has been in front of this speed camera
for months. That means every speeding fine issued is invalid.
Should I raise this as mitigating circimstances or just keep
quiet and take the fine?
regards

Which law would that be?

But it isn’t. It is speed limit signs which convey the limit to
drivers, not cameras.
I suppose you should ask yourself how you would feel if a police
officer caught a burglar leaving your house with your valuables.
But he could not be prosecuted because the officer was hiding in
the bushes.
You should be offered a course for that speed provided you have
not done one in the last three years (offence dates being used
to calculate that period) and the offence was not in Scotland.

As an "expert", I can confirm that this thread is utterly
pointless without pictures or much, much more information, and
that I will be happy to delete it.

Even if there were such a law, they would not be "breaking their
own law". Laws in this country are made by Parliament, not the
police. So far.

Hi
Thank you for your responses.
This thread can be deleted now. I am just going to take the
fine.
