NIP for sp30.... but I was miles away!

       Hi all,
       I got a NIP for a speeding (36 in a 30) by a manned camera
(TruCAM 2, If anyone is that interested)
NIP arrived in time after going to the lease company first).
Offence was 8th April at 16:31hrs.
My main issue is that I left work at 16:19hrs, but my work is 20
miles (35 to 40 minutes normally) from the speed trap site.
My work CCTV shows this and is time/date stamped, so I would
have to average 100mph on country A roads.
Is this something I should be contesting?
Either their clocks are wrong, or my car is cloned.

Did you drive at all on that day past the site of the alleged
offence? If so, at what time?

I can't remember driving down that road.I would have been in the
       area for about 5pm.

So you aren't denying being on that road at all that day?
Could you have been there at 17:31 hours?
I mean it sounds very unlikely, but is it at all possible that
the "camera clock" had not been updated to British Summer Time
       and was an hour behind?
And if it was, would it make a difference...

It's not at all unlikely, we see examples almost every time the
       clocks change.

I believe the consensus was to ask for photos to assist in the
driver identification. They may supply - but they definitely
won't if you hint at a clone etc.
We moved to BST about a week before the allegation - it's not
impossible the time is GMT as noted.

I have access to the photos.
The show the car, driver is heavily shadowed and the
manufacturer logo is black, but mine is chrome.
       Its all a bit strange.

well that's something to show the police if the car is
       demonstrably different.
If there is a clone riding around in your area you'll want them
       to know…
