Euro Car Parks Limited Scotland

I wrote in an appeal to Euro Car Parks Limited on 18th of
December 2025, regarding car park charges I received on
25/11/25.
I had never ever over stayed in any parking area ever. I ended
over staying an hour and 3 mins, due to health reasons which
were out of my control. I suffer from unpredictable leg spasms.
They can come on any time. I ended up taking a muscle spasm on
my right leg starting from my right calf up to my hip. I could
not straighten or stretch the agonising pain. It took me the
over staying time to get to the car with support of my younger
sister who has disabilities her self. As even though the spasm
relaxed but the pain in the back of the calve was agonising and
could not walk on it properly, and can last for days. My doctor
gave a supporting letter stating that I suffer from leg spasms.
I had a blue badge displayed aswell.
I requested for the parking charge to be revoked on medical
grounds.
I never heard anything back. Till March 2026, I received a
notice to pay £100. So I sent them copies of original appeal,
doctors letter, and proof of postage first class delivery.
Then I receive a letter stating that the appeal should have been
made within 28 days from the date of the parking charge notice.
Please note that we eare unable to accept your correspondence
as this parking charge notice has now been passed to Debt
Recovery Plus and contact them directly with regards to
payments.
I my opinion the whole Euro Car Parks Limited is badly managed.
Firstly the portal to make an appeal dies not work. Secondly
there are no phone numbers to call and the ones there are for
payments. Thirdly when a person with disabilities makes an
effort to register post an appeal. That gets discarded and then
when you send them another letter with all the first appeal
evidence that gets disregarded.
My disappointment is there are wrong people in the wrong jobs.
All they want to do is ignore the appeals and just want the
payments. I will be reporting this to the Consumer Standards
Organisation.
Really disappointed and disgusted with these private companies
that lack management skills and harass and discriminate against
people with general medical health grounds. Wrong people in the
wrong jobs.

Did you reveal yourself to be driving in your correspondence
with Euro Car Parks?
If not, then they have no way to recover any charges from you.
If they know who was driving then in theory they could seek
recovery through the courts, but:
- It's often not worth it for a single ticket, due to the way
the Scottish system works
- If they did, you would seem to have the makings of a good
defence on the basis that the contract was frustrated, and an
argument that once you made them aware of your disability (which
it seems like you did when you appealed?) they failed to make
reasonable adjustments
As with all Scottish cases, I need to caveat my advice - my
knowledge and experience comes from England/Wales. I am
comparatively unfamiliar with the Scottish legal system.
