NIP as the registered keeper of vehicle
   DIR By: boxer29

       Hi,
The registered keeper in UK of a vehicle has received NIP dated
10.4.2026, alleging to doing 38 in 30 zone.
The driver has not been to any speed awareness course in the
       past with a clean licence.
What are the outcomes for the driver.
       1) will the driver be offered 3 points and a fine of 100. ( due
to insurance hike will like to avoid)
       2) will the driver be offered speed awareness course with a fine
and not have 3 pp. How much is the speed awareness course, is it
online, or have to go to a centre.
       Thanks for your advice

If not already done so RK needs to nominate driver ASAP as 28
days already almost (thanks, Andy!) passed.
38 in 30 should be offer of course if offence in England /
       Wales.
Cost about the same as the FPN, 3-4 hours, most are online now.
If NIP was dated 10/4 when was it received?

With a clean licence, 3 points should have little or no effect
       on insurance.

A notice sent by first class post on Friday April 10th, would be
deemed to have been served on Tuesday April 14th (unless and
until the contrary is proven). The end of the 28 day period
beginning with the [deemed] date of service would be Monday May
       11th - which is tomorrow.

A speed awareness course is ~£100 and is generally online these
       days.
