       The contravention date was 5th January. The penalty notice was
       dated 14th January. I appealed on line but cannot trace the
       actual date other than it was very shortly after I received the
       penalty notice. The delay in responding was their end due to the
       high number of challenges!!

       Did you not get a confirmation email of some sort?
       Anyway, if you responded very shortly after then they likely
       sent their notice of rejection beyond the three month period
       that the traffic adjudicators have stated is their expectation
       to avoid unfairness to you.

       Strongly suggest you include a similar challenge in your appeal
       (in addition to any other grounds).

       Thank you and helpful. Acknowledgement of original appeal
       received on 15th January, therefore, they are well outside the
       three month period.
