UK Parking Patrol Office PCN - Failure to register vehicle -
Gaskells Chippy, Wigan - Letter of Claim

       ---------------------------------------------------------
       Hello,
I'm the registered keeper of the vehicle involved in this PCN
and am seeking advice on how to respond to a letter of claim.
The business requires entry of the vehicle registration to
validate free parking. The driver entered the registration at
the time of purchasing chips but either made a typo, or
accidentally entered the registration of a different vehicle
       they had access to.
It has recently come to light that the person who paid for the
chips did so with a card. I have a screen grab of their bank app
showing the transaction. It is dated a day later, but I assume
this is the settlement date as the transaction was at the time
       of parking.
There have been 9 letters received, most recently a letter of
claim. There has so far been no response to any of the letters.
Any advice on how best to respond would be gratefully received.
       Thanks

!st it is best to not ignore these PPN`s.
Did you try to speak to the Chip Shop to ask them to intervene?
The PPN does not have the invitation to the keeper to pay.
Also, I cannot see the Creditor mentioned in the original PPN,
although it is mentioned in the reminder.

       Thanks for the reply.
Yes, I assume it was a mistake the notices were ignored when
there is a plausible explanation, but this is where we are.
The driver contacted the chip shop initially, but they denied
ownership of the car park and refused to give any help or
       further information.
Maybe they could try that avenue again now that the card
       transaction has surfaced.
