BW Legal Letter of Claim - unpaid water

Have received a letter of claim from BW Legal with the threat of
taking me to the county court over a debt to JC International
Acquisition LLC.
The amount is the same as a disputed bill I had with Thames
Water dating from about five years ago. I calculated they owed
me around £100 and they said I owed them £200 - it was part of a
much larger billing error on their part for which they
eventually admitted.
About 18 months ago I had a phone conversation with them where I
said if they would take the debt off my credit file I would pay
the disputed amount as having a clear credit file was worth the
money. They said I had to pay the amount and wouldn't take it
off my credit file. As I had no incentive to pay them I didn't.
A few months back the correspondence from JC started, along with
phone calls which I've ignored - apart from one occasion where I
tried to phone them back but they wouldn't let me speak to an
account handler - just a payment bot.
Am I right to think this is the same as the private parking
letters and can be safely ignored?

I realise this isn't the main subject of your query, but to
avoid future issues, letters from solicitors acting on behalf of
private parking companies cannot be safely ignored.
