       ParkingEye - Barnet hospital
   DIR By: NoWayParkWay

       ---------------------------------------------------------
Went to Barnet hospital and after several times in and out of
the car park we decided to just wait inside the car park for a
car to come out. On the way out, the machine told me a value but
because I wasn't sure if it was counting the very first time I
got in, I changed the entry time to when we finally ended up
       parking the car and paid.
Next week get a letter with a fine. I've appealed with the above
justification and sent as supporting doc, the park payment from
my bank statement and the message I sent my wife with the time I
       parked the car.
Got the letter back saying that my appeal was not succesful so
would have to either pay with a discount "as a gesture of good
       will" or appeal to POPLA.
Was referred to this forum from Google search as a place to
understand if it's worth an appeal.
       Thanks in advance.
EDIT: I don't think I have access to the appeal anymore, I went
to their site and there's no access to the appeal itself but
here's the generated chatGPT notes I've pasted in (already
realized that I might've identified myself as the driver)

       > On the day in question, I entered and exited the car park
several times due to a lack of available spaces. On my final
entry, I waited for a bay to become free and was not parked in a
bay during that time. As I am new to the area and unfamiliar
with this particular car park system, I was unsure how previous
entries and exits would be recorded.
       >
       > When proceeding to make payment, I was unsure whether the
entry time suggested by the system reflected my earlier
movements or my final entry. As I only began occupying a parking
bay once a space became available, I corrected the entry time to
the time I actually parked and paid for the full duration of my
       stay from that point.
       >
       > Payment was made for the parking period, which can be verified
through your payment system records. I have attached a
screenshot from my bank app showing the parking charge, as well
as a screenshot of a message sent at the time I secured a
parking bay, which shows the corresponding time and supports the
       timeline provided above.
       >
       > There was no intention to avoid payment, and I respectfully
request that you review the ANPR and payment records and cancel
       this charge.

Edited the initial post with what I have. Don't think I have
access to the actual appeal but got what chatGPT generated from
       my description...

You only need to redact personal info.
You appeared to have blocked out pretty much everything for some
       reason?

Apologies to both, went a bit too crazy with the avoid to
overshare as this is public notice in the FAQ. I can't seem to
edit the main post so just adding it as a comment
       Here's a less redacted version

So you adjusted your entry time on the payment machine, told
them that in your appeal and identified yourself as the driver?
If so you have 2 options, pay the discounted rate (what's the
discount rate they are offering?) or wait it out for the next
few months and then eventually have to file a defence of a court
claim. It'll probably get discontinued, only you can weigh up
whether the hassle of waiting out the process or paying the
discount is the best option for you.

Yes, I wasn’t sure if it had counted the very first I initial
time as I was in and out several times. The reference to the
adjustment was to expect some leeway since I had no intention to
not pay for the parking in itself.
The “discounted rate” is still the £60, they had just extended
for 14 more days “as a gesture of good will”.
From what I can see from other cases it can go many ways so just
wanted to understand if there’s a possibility - I might just cut
       my loses and move on.
