       ULEZ PCN, help needed!
By: SteamingBert Date: March 17, 2026, 2:01 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
Wondering if anyone could help.. I live outside London and had
to travel into Croydon to visit grandparents in hospital.. the
evening before entered the ulez zones I checked on the tfl
website to whether my car is ulez compliant. The tfl website
stated I was compliant. I have kept a screenshot stating this. I
travelled into Croydon 3/4 times between Oct and December last
year. Much to my surprise the owner of the car (a family member)
received a fine stating a failure to pay the 12.50 that is
charged per day. I appealed the fine using my evidence that the
tfl website stated my car is compliant. (I've checked since the
fine and it now states the car is now NOT compliant.) I only
have 1 fine despite making several journeys into Croydon. I
submitted my evidence on the 15th January, checked it this
morning to find they've increased the fine to £270 and a charge
certificate batched on the PCN history status.. is anyone able
to provide advice on steps to continue to fight this? Along with
the screenshot stating my car was compliant i stated I travelled
in good faith undertaking as much due diligence as I could to
ensure I didn't need to pay the daily charge. I have heard
nothing from them expect the update (and the letter that will
arrive whenever with this increased fine.) Any help is much
       appreciated!
       Thanks.

Does the status say your representation was received.
Let's see the screenshot showing the car was compliant.

       +1
And can you please read this and update your thread accordingly:
       -
  HTML https://www.ftla.uk/civil-penalty-charge-notices-(councils-tfl-and-so-on)/read-this-first-before-posting-your-case!-this-section-is-for-council-tfl-dartme/
Can you also, please, clarify the ownership issue, because you
refer to "my car", and "the owner of the car(a family memmber)"
Under the decriminalised legislation, the owner of a vehicle
retains full responsibility for payment or appealing PCNs. If
you submitted reps against the PCN, then they should have been
rejected by TfL on the basis you are not the owner. In fact, I
believe they are entitled to ignore any representations that
don't come from the owner. This is probably the reason the
       Charge Certificte was served.
