       parking fine

       Hello all,
On Friday 20th February 2026 I was in my work's marked van, and
had some work at a customer's property. On arrival, they're
was no space in the marked loading area (it was full of council
refuse lorries), so I parked opposite, on a single yellow line
       with single kerb markings (
  HTML https://maps.app.goo.gl/Twu9AoHJ9j9M3tNk6
       ). I went into the
customer's property to carry out the work (I was approximately
30 minutes), and on my return I found a PCN attached to my
       windscreen.
I had been observed for 23 seconds before the ticket was issued.
Have I any chance of getting this ticket cancelled and if so,
what is the best way to go about it?
I will post the PCN later. Can someone please tell me what I
       need to redact?
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you in advance

There's no need to redact anything on the PCN.

Just redact your personal details from the PCN and post the pic
of PCN through preffered image site. The pro's here need the Car
Reg and PCN number to fully help you, like they did for me! Very
knowledgefull folk here, but they need time/date/ID/Code of
contravention, (like mine was '62', from PCN), deets to help you
       quickly.
       Good luck Lateman!

If you were parked during operational hours on the SYL in your
GSV link then as this applies for all days I cannot see a
       defence at present.
The fact that you were driving a 'works van' complicates
matters. As any informal challenge would in all likelihood be
rejected, then a NTO would be served on the registered keeper
who, as I read it, is not you.
What is your employers practice as regards penalty charges
incurred by employees during their employment?

So who owns the van ? Owner has responsibility for payment or
appealing, but you can submit an informal challenge to the PCN,
but after that, assuming its rejected, they council send out a
       Notice to Owner.

ok, here's the link to the photo of the PCN..

       Can someone tell me please:
since it's a company van, I'm not allowed to officially
challenge the PCN, that the company has to make official
       challenges?
and if any such challenge is rejected, do I still have the
"early payment" (£35), or will I now have to pay the full amount
       (£70)?
and in answer to some of the questions in the replies:
       - yes, I was parked pretty much exactly where the google maps
link shows (on the single yellow line just outside the disabled
       bay)
       - the van belongs to the company
oh, please let me know too, if there is anything on the PCN that
       I should have reacted
       thank you

At the PCN stage, you can submit an informal challenge, and if
they reject it (like they do for about >95%) of them, they
re-offer the discount. To stop the matter going any further, you
       can pay this.
However, if you don't pay, your company will get a Notice to
Owner. At this stage the discount is lost, so the company are
now liable for the full PCN penalty. Your company may not even
own the van, it may be leased, in which case the lease company
will get the NtO. So as you can see, it is a bit of a Pot Mess.
You need to find out what the company does for their workers
getting a PCN and if the van is leased or not.
