       Rank Information
By: Victoreno Date: July 9, 2012, 6:25 pm
       ---------------------------------------------------------
       RCT:
Make your RP interesting! Do things that would have others
believe that as a recruit you are just a citizen in uniform. The
great thing about being a recruit is that you can show a variety
of human traits. Maybe your character is lazy, attentive, has
anger issues, tries to pretend he knows what he is doing,
horrified at the sight of blood, happy, timid, hesitant, etc...
Don't be scared to have your character make small mistakes that
are expected at the recruit level. As long as you don't blow up
the Nexus... If you're going to keep logs, write vivid ones as
if you were still a warm blooded citizen and not some command
asshole. Remember... be active around training sessions as much
as possible as you'll need a lot of training courses to be
promoted out of that croot status.
About blackmarks: They are brass pins in the shape of an X. It's
okay if you allow your character to mess up enough to get a
blackmark. When you get promoted to 04, you can take those
horrible pins off and remind yourself to mess up slightly less.
Just don't get three. Why? I'll tell you later.
You can have your character try to be sly and get away with
breaking rules, or even trying to cover them up when a superior
walks in. The two things that units are monitored for is treason
and doing unspeakable things with that organ below your pelvis.
Avoid these two things and you can have your character try to
get off the hook for making mistakes or wrongdoings. Doing that
       is good for character development.
       04:
You're not great at your job yet and as an 04 you're only
slightly colder than a citizen would be. You make a lot less
rookie mistakes, but you would seriously hesitate to even
torture a citizen even though you're authorized to. Seriously.
You shouldn't be wanting to amputate. Being sent on sweeps may
scare you slightly. You know you're trusted enough to be sent so
you must be ready for it. You're pretty much just a recruit in a
division, but you don't want to admit that you're still like
your 'croot buddies. A word of advice... don't stay as an
UNASSIGNED for too long or some people... *COUGH* THE SEC
       *COUGH* will get angry...
       03:
Okay, you're becoming a lot better at your job. By now you can
show that you're a huge improvement from a recruit. You are
becoming a little colder, and at this point you start to feel
okay with torturing citizens. You've got your duties more
refined at this point. You may still be seriously against
killing citizens and disgusted by spilling blood, but you'll do
it if you're required to. No worries, you won't be required to
kill citizens... usually. If you are ever forced to due to the
lack of a higher ranking unit, try not to throw up because it's
going to clog up your air filter. Being sent on sweeps scares
you considerably less. You know that you're going to have to get
used to what you do. Real soon.
       02:
You're cold enough to start treating citizens like scum and
you'll be okay with following any order given. You still might
not be used to amputations, because this is the first rank that
can authorize them. Try to leave slight hesitation in
amputations, but when it comes to Level 2 verdicts it's like a
hot knife through butter. Smooth. Quick. Efficient. When sent on
sweeps, you might even be itching to lead them. You can give
orders to lower ranking units, but don't be order-happy.
       01:
Give yourself a pat on the back for making it this far.
Actually, don't. You're a unit that has gradually become cold
and calculated. You treat your inferiors with decency but you
would amputate a citizen without the slightest hesitation. When
sent to do things, you get them done without error. Become
satisfied with this rank as it may be the highest rank
achievable. Start embracing your ability to give orders out to
lower ranking units, but don't overdo it. Your character can be
       a hardass at this point.
       OfC:
Welcome to High Command. You are a Commissioned Officer and
possess a large amount of command authority. You will help
administrate and regulate your division. You can blackmark
units. Use those little brass heartbreakers as if it was your
greatest discipline weapon. By now your character is completely
cold. Slipping up now will get you killed on the spot. Use good
judgement with your actions as the only two ranks above you will
       not tolerate failure.
       EpU:
You're picked because you are the best of the best at what you
do. So, act like it. There is only one of you per division.
You're as cold as an Officer and you'll do your duty perfectly.
Be ready to command field operations more often. If there was
anything higher than a hardass, you can be it...BUT DON'T GET ME
WRONG! You're still a human being! Don't go all autonomous robot
on me and remember that you can show as much emotion as you like
as long as it does not cloud your judgement or affect how you
execute orders... or in the face of a High Command unit for that
       matter.
       DvL:
The weight of an entire division is on your shoulders. You
answer only to the SeC. You make the calls within your division.
Expect to be relied upon to command units. Be ready to actively
create new opportunities for your division and increase your
division's capabilities. Keep your units and your Officer in
check. You're the second highest rank, and the SeC will not
hesitate to replace you if you mess up. Then again, a DvL does
not mess up. Ever. If an officer is completely cold, then you
       are sub-zero.
       SeC:
You run this town. Anything and everything within the city is
       under your command. Self-explanatory.
Three blackmarks results in a demotion!

       Watch out for specials:
CmD: Commander, just above DvL but below SeC, same powers as DvL
       just a cooler name :)
ESS: Mys's unit, Prof. Brean gave him a metal arm so you don't
want to fight with him :)
