That brings the overall match tally to 21, higher than PS's:
However, the success of the left at the federal level contrasts
with the emergence of a right-wing bloc in Flanders, which opens
the possibility of a coalition between the Flemish Membership
and the N-VA. Previously, the N-VA managed to win over a large
part of the far-right electorate with its program of tactical
confederalization: a radical regionalization of tax powers,
economic policy and social security, but without a unilateral
declaration of independence. However, after nearly 20 years in
regional government, the confederate reform promised by the N-VA
has not come to fruition, and next year is seen as its last
chance.
Flemish Membership, for its part, has captured N-VA voters
through its fusion of welfare chauvinism and unapologetic
separatism, Today, however, the most likely outcome of the vote
is the so-called "Vivaldi option": a continuation of the
coalition that has reigned since 2019, whose party colors reflec

t the four seasons: Liberals, Greens,
Christian Democrats and Socialists. Walloons and Flemings, a
sort of Belgian equivalent of Germany's GroKo (Grand Coalition).
However, parliamentary arithmetic also allows for other
combinations, such as an exclusively left or red-red-green

How plausible is a Popular Front à la belge? The PTB/PVDA has
already set out its conditions for participating in the
government: breaking with the austerity of the European Union,
setting the retirement age back at 65 and taxing millionaires,
policies that the more conservative green parties are reluctant
to adopt for fear of angering their European partners. However,
the possibility of a progressive federal cabinet, although it
seems distant, has made the right uncomfortable.
