-Bambi changed her clothes from out of her comfortable pjs and
into a pair of cotton biker shorts and a black sports bra with a
black half tank top on. Her hair was pulled back into a
ponytail. She dressed in work out clothes because this was just
a mini workout session to her.
It was five vamps. That was easy peasy. They weren’t that old
either. On her walk there she was on the phone with air pods in-
“Oh my god then he has his hand like on my thigh while we were
riding the bike and it was amazing” -she said to the person on
the phone. Apparently giving them a run down of her night with
Bandit. She started at the beginning talking about they met and
how cute she thought he was.-
“I know right! And then he says to me “there’s a connection
between us’ or something like..ugggh! He’s so right” -she went
on being encouraged by the person on the other end of the phone.
Then she went into how the night ended and there was hysterical
laughter from the woman on the other end of the phone as Bambi
was explaining in her own fashion. Her face was bright red
telling the story-
“So do I go see him tomorrow or is that too much? Do I play
mysterious?” -she paused to listen to the advice and it was
mostly the blind leading the blind in the phone-
“I know. Ok. So then I’ll do it. I’ll go see him tomorrow.
Alright, babes I’m here and gotta lock in” -they said their good
byes
With her hands on her hips she looked up at the chain link
fence. She threw her bag over the top it before she jumped.
Flipping over the fence clearing it.
Landing on her feet she picked up her bag and took out air pods
and threw them back in her bag in their case.
Whistling a jaunty tune she entered into the old warehouse. The
door was so loud but she didn’t care. She wasn’t trying to sneak
up on them.-
“Hello? Anybody home?” -she sang out- “Fresh blood and I’m all
alone..”
-That part was true, she was alone. However her body told
another story. She has a crossbow slung over her shoulder.
Around her thighs were stakes in holsters. There was a small
sword at her side. It was created especially for slayers. It was
light, short almost like a gladius but with a slight curve to
better decapitate. She had a few other sharp objects.
She readied her cross bow. It was dark but she was trained.
Bambi’s training included sensory deprivation. She had to be
able to sense them without seeing or hearing them.”
“What do we ha-argh” -was all the voice got before a wooden
arrow paralyzed him. Her arrows were created to grip the rib
cage so they didn’t go right through the vampire. It was just
easier to kill them when they were in that state
She lowered her cross bow and peeked over to where the body was.
She wished it was like the movies and they turned to dust-
“What were you saying?” -she asked as she loaded up another
arrow. She’d deal with the body in a minute.
She could be snuggled in her bed, maybe she would have let
Bandit stay over. She could have run out and grabbed them
breakfast coffee. She was thinking of all the things she could
be doing. The thought of morning coffee in bed with Bandit made
her smile. Just chit chatting about their life, their goals and
dreams. All that in between slow lingering kissing.
None of that was going to happen because instead of a calm
peaceful morning it was dismemberment and decapitation. She
couldn’t even begin to describe this like of work to him. Then
it opens the doors of telling him vampires are real.
She heard a creak in the corner and pulled herself away from day
dream of Bandit her eyes went that direction. She put the
crossbow on the ground. She wanted to fist fight.-
“Sorry ladies and gents but you pulled me away from a boy that
has the prettiest blue eyes. So I’m going to make this hurt.”
-she announced just before her eyes cut to someone in the
corner. Not kindred human. Of course.
She ran over to the human man and knelt down beside him- “Hey,
look at me you’re ok.” -she said in a calming voice as she
checked him over bite marks. On her watch she pulled up Niles
name- “Clean up and champ. Send”
-Putting her hands on her knees she felt the second attack
coming before she even heard them-

Whatever numbers the Watchers reported might be
associated with the Ministry, it would be smart to assume it was
a low estimate.
The vampire she shot wasn’t dead, instead frozen in place like a
statue with that bow in its chest. The defender in her blood
called her to help the downed man who was delirious, leaving the
body unattended.
The man was white, thin with a mullet and satanic tattoos over a
well defined form. He had bites at his wrist and thigh. He
smelled like sex. When she tried to rouse him, he moaned
faintly. “My angel. My guardian angel filling’ me with
light…” he said hazily. He blinked trying to look at her.
“Daddy, you know I don’t like Blondes…” Who was he
talking to?
She would feel the attack before she heard it, and she would
hear it before she saw it. Something unseen tried to strike her.
And the arrow was missing from that vampire’s chest.

“Oh yay.” -she said as the guy was talking but there was no joy
in her voice, it was just flat. She had dealt with time and
time again. Some were grateful others you would think she was
taking their arm off. The Watchers had a “rehabilitation”
program for people like this. Georgie has gone through it. They
knew her back story and they never treated her differently
because of it. She had been kept as a pet but now she worked
with them.
Bambi stayed knelt down by the man when she felt the attack. She
titled her chin down and cocked her over her shoulder to see
what was coming. When she saw the blur she timed it and just
ducked the attack with a simple ease.
She slowly stood up pushing up on her thighs that Bandit liked I
look at so kick and stood up at her full height which was about
5’4. But somehow she always seemed taller. Brown orbs moved to
where the downed vampire had been laying.-
“Cute.” -she said before she turned around with her hands on her
hips.- “Tick tok..suns coming out soon. So let’s make this
simple. We can either do this the easy way, which is where you
all come and fight me at once. The hard way we can keep playing
peek a boo till the sun comes up and then I break some windows.
Or my way. Which is I’ll just burn this building down with you
in it. It’s too late to find another ground..sooooo” -she made a
weighing motion with her hands.-
“You talk too much..” -came a growl from the shadows and the
blur came at her trying to strike her. She gripped his arm and
twisted kicking his feet out from under him till he was on his
knees. A second attacked at the same time he rushed at her, she
lifted her leg up and her foot landing square in his chest
sending him backwards into a pile of debris.
The first vampire she held his arm straight, before quickly
turning and with her free hand punched down into his elbow
breaking his arm with a thundering crack in the warehouse.
Of course he would heal so she quickly grabbed the sword and
sliced off his head. It landed on the ground with a sickening
thud as a little bit of blood sprayed up into her face.- “God
you guys are so gross.”
-the second vampire came at her and with out even looking she
looped off his head too. The head and body fell to the floor.
Both bodies stared to decay and she just made a face.-
“I will never get used to that. Ugh. Ok, so who’s next and could
we hurry this along please?”
-she was growing inpatient because she wanted a little rest. As
a slayer she didn’t need a full nights sleep. Her body was wired
differently allowing her the opportunity to fulfill her destiny
even if she just wanted to sleep to think of Bandit and snuggle
with a smile into her blankets. At least this might free up her
tomorrow so she could see him. Maybe? Probably not. She never
even got his phone number..focus Bambi. She reminded herself.
She had vampire to fight. It was a miracle she lived as long as
she did. Most slayers didn’t live past a year, she has about 15
years under her belt. Whig was unheard of.-

The vampires weren’t old, maybe only a few years at best
given the decomposition to their now headless form. No match for
a Slayer’s prowess. While she was busy looking for another of
their brethren to decapitate, a third revealed himself from the
shadows when semi-automatic erupted towards her.
“You’ll pay for that, blondie! Terrible dye job,!”
He was a generic body, a cherubic face and a faux-hawk with
frosted tips, wearing a gold banana hammock. He was shooting
wildly, just peppering her direction with bullets as he ran out
the door farthest away from her.
If she went after him, she’d find he’d vanished from thin air.
If she returned to gather up the mortal man that had been out of
it, he was gone, too.
