To Charlie’s credit, he played it cool. That was a half
second that her insult had that mask of charisma falter, but he
turned his head and chuckled. The people around them booed
openly to her dismissal of her Preacher, or was it Domitor? Rex
had smirked at her words, but it became a feral curl of his lip
at the animosity that was welling up around them. His hand
dropped from her, and she could tell he was getting ready to
position himself defensively, turning with her as they moved to
leave, staring down the sycophants in their path.
“Oh, don’t you worry, Miss Jenny! The night’s still young, and
we got awl that, and much more in store…. No, it’s alright,
folks. Let ‘em go. Us…. Holy Rollers… ain’t for everybody.”
He still had the crowd in his palm, and while there were
disgruntled faces on their way out, they weren’t being stopped.
Likely at his words. Rex paused when she turned around,
furrowing his brows curiously, not sure where she’d take this.
They’d already pushed their luck. His instincts were telling him
to get out while they had the chance, let the other Anarchs
finish this scout. Truth be told, he was thinking they all
needed to scatter, quickly. But Jane pulled something out of her
pretty ass with that scenario. Rex looked around at the crowd
again, avoiding glancing up to the stage at Charlie.
Cherub Charlie had begun using the stage, but stopped and turned
back to Jenny, this time looking at her through his gaudy
sunglasses. He held up a finger and the entire room went quiet
so she could talk and he could listen. Then he took a moment to
process her story and strolled slowly to the edge of the stage.
“Well, if I’m bein’ honest… I think I need to be talkin’ to
your cousin, and not you. If we are talkin’ ‘bout your cousin,
Miss Jenny. But yes, we can help your cousin. Addiction is a
terrible thing, it’s a journey. It’s important to keep your
faith, for there is always hope. Amen.” He said solemnly,
showing real empathy in that moment while his silver tongue
danced. The congregation echoed the Amen, just as softly as he
did. Charlie stood up. “But if we really gonna help your
cousin, Jenny, we gonna to have a longer conversation. Now, to
know whether or not you and your story are worth my time… You
must be tested.” A conspiratorial murmur went through the crowd,
along with some jeers of encouragement. Charlie snapped his
fingers, and a curvaceous woman wearing a too-tight yet
conservative dress approached with a basket.
“We practice the old ways ‘round these parts, for in them lies
forgotten truths. Other Churches say that Lucifer was the
serpent in the Garden, trying to corrupt Eve. But That ain’t
right. The Serpent was an Agent of the Almighty, meant to test
Eve. For the soul of your cousin, Jenny, will you allow yourself
to be tested?”
The woman opened the basket, holding it out for Jenny. Rex
stepped forward, putting a hand on her shoulder, practically
growling under his breath. They could hear the hissing of the
snake inside.
“Nu uh, Adam! This is Eve’s test. Let’s see if she can handle
my snake as well as she handles yours…”
Rex couldn’t see the animal, but he was trying to reach out,
using what influence he had on animals to try and quell the
beast. Most of the time, these places de-venomed their snakes,
making the bites that happened less dangerous. Something told
him they didn’t do that here. She would survive the bite, and
would heal it… but would that mean failing the test?

-The smart thing to do would have been to leave, but she was
told that Charlie might be able to help her, or at least the
Nosferatu in his whatever the fuck this was would be able too.
She had not come prepared to be called out by him in front of
the whole congregation. Jane liked to keep a low profile if she
could. Or as much as she could considering she did have that
temper that came with being Brujah. Butch might not have raised
all of his kids, but at least he taught her a few things like
how to manage that. He wasn’t the best sire, but he was the one
she got.
He did the one thing that was smart, he gave her a challenge. A
test. That wasn’t something that Jane could pass up. Because
even if she failed at least she didn’t back down. There was no
such thing as backing down from a fight when her convictions
were strong. Right now her conviction was helping out Butch. So
far that had just landed her as the target for Charie. She was
going to extort Butch for this. He was also testing her and she
knew it. Now Charlie was testing her. It was getting annoying
that the men in her life were testing. Rex tested her patience
some days too.
The feeling of Rex ready to fight was almost enough for her to
say ‘fuck it’ and just start taking heads. At this point though,
she had a point to prove. Stepping away from Rex she glanced up
at the stage. Glasses or not, she wasn’t taking the chance to
look him in the eyes. She had no idea about his power or whether
or not those glasses would protect her.
Her hand came up and she placed it on Rex’s arm, before she
looked up at him. She was asking him to stop. Stop trying to
tame the snake. This was something she had to do and she
couldn’t have him interfering. Chances are Charlie would know
they cheated and it wasn’t a chance she could take not when she
was this close. So close to getting a meeting with him. She
didn’t know how helpful he’d be, but at least she was allowing
him to put on a good performance with her as the bait for it.
Her eyes moved to the woman and she gave her a once over, there
was also a warning glare to the woman not to even look over at
Rex. At this point Jane wasn’t sure she could stop herself from
harming anyone if one more woman touched Rex or looked at him in
any lewd way. While they might be having a rough patch, that
didn’t give anyone the right.-
“His snake I like.” -she shot back up to him, and you know what?
She couldn’t play coy and shy, but that wasn’t the play here
because again that feeling of Charlie being able to see behind a
charade was something that she thought about. While he might not
like her attitude, that wasn’t her problem. Even if tried to
make it her problem.
This was making her squirm on the inside. She wasn’t fond of
animals and hissing snakes were pretty close to the top of her
list. Spiders being the first one. Nothing should have 8 legs
and don’t get her started on centipedes. Jane was not an animal
person, and not a reptile person either. And her boyfriend loved
those furry gross little critters. If she was human she would
want to vomit. She could still remember the feeling of nausea.
Jane shook out her hands to pull herself together and to try and
calm herself. No sense sticking her hand in the basket if she’s
nervous or angry. Rex taught her that animals could feel your
emotions.
Fucking hell.
Jane could use celerity to quick reach her hand in the basket
and hopefully grab the snake up, but again she was going to do
this correctly. If she wanted to talk to Charlie, she was going
to have to make a show of it. That’s what this was, a
performance. She never had any desire to be a part of a
performance unlike Grace. Grace would probably be salivating at
this.
Closing her eyes, her hand reached slowly into the basket. She
then opened them up out of defiance. Nobody was going to make
her feel less then. Especially not Charlie. Slowly her hand went
into the basket and she tried to calm her emotions. The first
that hit her hand was the warmth of the basket. She could feel
it moving around inside, christ she was going to get herself
bit. The little voice in her head was reminding her to stay
calm. It kept repeating stay calm.
Rex had taught grabbing a snake by it’s head would keep it from
attacking because it couldn’t. She hated every single second of
this and was trying to with in 5 seconds remember the
information Rex had given her while she was barley listening.
Not to make to much around snakes, they felt vibrations? Was
that it or was that Tremors? Her hand slipped further into the
basket, and she felt it move under tough, the rough scales were
not slimy like she thought, but rather it felt like pocked
leather. Then it happened, she focused on the basket and the
movement inside. Her hand quickly turned and with a revolting
jolt, she pulled the snake from the basket.
The snake dangled out of the basket, and Jane wanted to throw
it. She couldn’t even look at it. If anything she held it as
away from him as far as she could. It was spitting and
attempting to coil around her arm, but she would give it a shake
so it couldn’t. What she really wanted to do was throw the snake
into the crowd. Except she knew there were other’ Anarchs in the
crowd, Dutch was one of them so instead of causing mass chaos
like she wanted too she held onto her will power. Rex probably
understood how much she had been truly holding back, which meant
he was in for a really good night or a really bad one.-

All eyes were on them as that basket was presented. The
anticipation was palpable. The light on Charlie moved to refocus
on her, giving her the majority of the light. He knelt down at
the edge of the stage, removing his sunglasses to watch with a
Cheshire grin. It appeared that this was proper entertainment
for the Congregation. Rex meanwhile was standing to Jane’s
flank, hovering close, shifting his gaze from the basket to the
crowd around them, proverbial hackles raised. A look through the
crowd to Dutch, and the Baron returned a look, a tilt of his
head and a wiggle of his brows that said “Roll with the
punches”. Dutch wasn’t the baron of the Anarchs cause he was
the most level headed or diplomatic. He was capable of such
things, sure. But he was also a Brujah, and he would start
caving skulls if they needed to fight their way out. But at that
point, it was every Lick for themselves.
Jane got a snicker from the crowd, and Charlie gave a venomous
stare before watching more intently as Jane committed to the
trial before her. His eyes widened a fraction… then hardened
when she withdrew the water moccasin from the basket. There was
a murmur through the crowd, a few claps. If Rex’s lungs worked,
he would have sucked in a breath, a mixture of surprise and
pride passing over him. A soft “fuck yeah” whispered. Then he
stopped his celebration.
Charlie slid his sunglasses back on and stood back up, hands
reflexively sliding down the front of his flashy suit.
“Folks, she has been tested. And He has found her worthy.” He
began to clap, and it spread through the crowd like a wave.
Hoots and hollers of joy at a brave, worthy soul. “Stay back
for after the show and I promise you Uncle Cherub Charlie will
personally help you with your…. Cousin.”
The celebration became a roar from the crowd, “But you just
hold on tight, cause we got more in store for the people
tonight!”
She was allowed to put the snake back, and the woman closed the
top, smiling sweetly before slipping off through the crowd. And
Charlie was moving on through the crowd, asking other newcomers
about their reasons for being there. While that went on, Rex was
grabbing Jane by the hand and pulling her through the crowd if
possible. He didn’t stop until they were outside the tent, past
security, at least out of earshot of anyone.
“That was fuckin’ crazy. What the fuck are we gonna do when he
gets us alone?”

-The lights were blinding, when they were pointed at him, the
wattage wasn’t noticed but now that it was shining directly on
it felt as if the sky had parted and allowed the sun to shine
through. Perhaps, that was an overkill assumption, except that
was just how it felt to her.
Rex’s presence was felt next to her. It felt safe and
comforting. He was much larger then her. When he flanked her it
created a shadow over her, one that she was thankful for as it
dimmed the light and allowed her to steady herself and to
accomplish the task at hand. She had no time to look at anyone
else as her all her attention was now poised on the water
moccasin she was currently holding up as if she was Mufasa.
Her eyes had been on Charlie, something felt as if it shifted in
the air. Jane wasn’t so sure she had been found worthy or even
if she passed test. It might have been best to fail the test.
Maybe that was the test? See what she would do if she failed?
Her mind had been reeling with different thoughts even when she
was finally allowed to put the leathery beast into the basket.
He put a challenge in front of her, and Jane wasn’t the type to
back down from anything. She stayed watching as he was moving
through the crowd talking to each of the people. He was
fascinating. Scary as fuck. But fascinating. He must have known
she would pulled that snake out.
It even took her a full few seconds to realized that the voices
were fading away, and her scenery had changed. It had been that
easy to pull her away from the crowd. She was mostly still in
shock as to what had happened. Rex was talking but she had taken
a moment to run in place, hold her hands out to her side and
wiggled them vigerously as she was making
‘bllleeegghhhhbllbheeehehelllllleeebbbbellllg’ sound.
Her hand rested on his chest as she was calming herself down and
maybe wiping her hand on his shirt for a moment to get off the
snake feel. She had stopped moving her hand but kept it placed
firmly on his chest. Jane took a small step forward so that shew
as closer to him.-
“Hell if I know, Randy” -she said with a small smile creeping on
her heart shaped lips. Even in a dire time like this she was
absolutely going to make a joke about the name he picked on the
spot. Her face turned more serious.- “But, you’re not going to
do anything. I’m going alone. You are going to stay away just in
case things go south. Only one of us can be in danger at a time,
remember?” -as if that was something they promised each other,
she might have made him make that promise to he after she drank
intoxicated blood.-
“Please don’t argue with me on this.” -her hand slid up his
chest letting it rest on his shoulder to create the space she
needed to press her body against his as a way of trying to win
this argument and also he felt nice against her. Especially
after such a tense moment. Jane titled her head up looking up at
him with her lips slightly parted.- “I love you. You know that
right?” -she asked him, because they were in a weird place and
this was probably not the place to hash it out, but before she
literally walked into the den of a viper she needed him to know
that.-

“Oh fuck off, Jenny,” Rex sneered, pulling her
closer in a hug, turning their bodies so he could watch the tent
from the path, eying the goons that stood at security. He leaned
down andd breathed her in, arms going incredibly tight around
her. HE wasn’t as strong as she could be, but he was solid,
sturdy and powerful in his own right. He tensed in her grasp as
she spoke about going it alone. He leaned back, eyes wide and
glaring at her.
“The fuck you are, woman. I’m not letting you near him by
yourself. You don’t want me to talk, fine, but you’re half
Malkavian if you think—“ she was insistent, touching him and
asking so sweetly. He growled, “That’s not fair.” And kissed
her gently. Before looking back to tent.
“I know. I love you, too… but what the fuck are you tryin’ to
achieve talkin’ to him? This was supposed to be an anarchic
scout. Dutch needs me in there.”
Regardless of their decision, they had to wait. They heard a
party from that tent. They heard lamentations — some of
pleasure, some of pain, some of sorrow — and after a while
people started to leave. A trickle at first, going to their
vehicles and driving home in the middle of the night, hours
before the crack of dawn. Eventually, Trudy would come sashaying
outside, coming to where they were and smiling her predatory
smile.
“You two losers stuck around? Bitchin’. Well, Uncle Cherub

Cherub Charlie told me not to say nothin’ bad about your junkie

she were purposely trying to get under Jane’s skin….

“Baby. It’s not like I asked to put on the spot like that. I
didn’t ask for him to single me out in a crowd of probably what
you think 200? Pretty decent way to make money.” -she trailed
off thinking that for a moment. Rex was making sense in that he
should be in there with her. Not because she needed him to be
but because Dutch did. Now she didn’t know why she couldn’t just
do it on her own, except for the fact she was still working on
gaining their trust. She wondered if Rex was there to keep an
eye on her, not just recon. That thought didn’t settle well with
her, if that was the case then it meant she didn’t trust Rex the
way she needed too. Jane shook the thought because she did trust
him.-
“Fine. Fine. You can come in with me.” -she said reluctantly, it
was hard for her to push her ego to the side to not hurt his
feelings or to let the Anarchs down with information. Hell they
wanted recon, but Jane got them an up close and personal
meeting. It was hard to find the positive in this situation, the
attempt was there.
Jane easily melted into Rex, her head was resting on his chest
and her arms were around his waist just holding him close. She
could see everyone leaving while he could see the tent, she
watched them leave in droves. She had wondered who made some of
the sounds she heard coming from the tent. There was a feeling
of relief that washed over her because she didn’t have to see
what was going on.
And then the grating voice came and broke the two out of their
small moment together. Slowly she turned her head against Rex’s
chest so she could look at Trudy. Her eyes narrowed and her
nails dug into Rex’s lower back. Finally she pulled herself from
him and stalked over Trudy.- “I’ll be sure to tell him you’re
doing a fantastic job.” -jane said with the venom dripping from
her voice. She followed Trudy holding tight onto Rex’s hand and
keeping him behind her so that there was space between him and
Trudy. Jane could only contain herself so much if she touched
him again.-

another. He knew she felt the same way because she had confided
in him who her sire was. He hadnt’ said anything to
anyone, as it hadn’t affected anything for him or the
Anarchs (to his knowledge?). It wasn’t uncommon for Brujah
fledgling to end up outside of the Camarilla, and just like with
Gangrel or Nosferatu, there wasn’t much animosity between
the clan divide— until it wasn’t. He wasn’t
there to spy on her; she had asked him to go along. But she had
gotten an opportunity that aligned with Dutch’s goal. But
Rex was more concerned about her safety. He didn’t want
her to be left alone with someone that powerful. He could kill
her if he found out her story wasn’t true, or use that
magnetism he had for more nefarious reasons.
When Trudy came to them, he felt Jane dig her nails into him,
and he rubbed her back to sooth her, staring the woman down. She
licked the corner of her lips as she made eye contact with Rex,
and he noticed the blood there. She wasn’t just a zealot
or a ghoul; she was a kindred.
Rex followed behind and barked playfully, “Down,
girl…” he growled, squeezing her hand. Trudy led
them around the outside of the tent, going to a different
entrance lit my more torches. Two more guards, bodybuilders in
mormon cosplay, who did the patdown routine on the VIPs. Then
they lifted up the curtain and let the trio inside. It was a
dressing room, with low lit makeup mirrors and candle lighting
everywhere. But in the middle of the room was a simple mattress
on a box spring, pillows strewn about, blood staining the white
fabric. One woman lay motionless on the bed, and another writhed
uncontrollably, moaning and babbling incoherently. Near a
dressing rack, they could see the stark white frame of Uncle
Cherub Charlie as he pulled a black silk robe on, tying off the
sash and turning around as Trudy approached, leaving rex and
Jane closer to the exit. It smelled like sex and blood and
death.
The Minister wiped the blood from his lips as he strolled with a
gunslinger’s gait towards them, synching his robe tighter.
[ “Cut the bullshit, Jenny and Randy. Fuckin’ two
bit hick names. The fuck you and Paul Runyon here want,
coming’ and disrupting my sermon?”
"Yeah, you tell these sumbitches, Uncle Cherub Charlie," Trudy
chimed in.
"Bitch, ain't nobody said a god-damned word to you."

-She followed Trudy with her lips pulled back, she hated this
woman. Hated her with a burning passion. She hated her like she
might hate someone who burned down her house. Except a house was
replaceable. Rex was not. Her eyes took in the torches, and
some how she realized that these torches might not be to play up
to the crowd. It felt like being walked down an ancient path,
one her and Rex should be turning away from. Everything in her
screamed to run away, to take Rex with her and just leave.
Charlie probably wouldn’t even bat an eye. Though she had a
feeling that’s what he might have expected to happen.
Instead Rex and Jane made the journey to the private tent. Jane
took in the bodyguards, and she knew Rex was doing the same.
They were similar like that. They both noticed things sometimes
they focused on something different and they could debrief about
what the other one missed. Now it wasn’t about what they were
seeing, but more of what she was feeling. The closer they got to
the tent the more dread she felt. She made a comment to the man
patting her down that he should buy her a drink first. But he
was professional about it. Probably heard that line a few
thousand times.
Finally they entered into the tent, and it felt even worse. She
had never been in the den of animal before, quickly realizing
that’s exactly where they were. The scent of blood and sex was
never uncommon when it came to vampires The body on the mattress
didn’t upset her at all. She wasn’t a vegetarian vampire. She
liked her blood fresh. It did have her licking her lips for a
moment as she was trying to remember the last time she did eat
someone. It was the one that was just babbling away that had her
slightly envious and concerned. After some nights with Rex she
had felt like she gone insane and couldn’t put together a
coherent thought. But this was something much more sinister.
When Charlie came out she was smiling, and she couldn’t help but
smile at him calling them out. Whatever he was, Jane kind of
liked him. He had grown on her somehow. She also was about to
correct that it’s Bunyon not Runyon..she didn’t. But the moment
Trudy spoke her smile ceased, it fell off her face and she
slowly in a predatory fashion turned to look at Trudy.-
“Before we get down to business as to why I’m here. I want to
know if you’ll be interested in a deal.” -she said as she turned
her eyes towards him but knew better then to look at him.- “I
will grant you a small favor in the future, say I’ll owe you
something small. If I can rip that bitches hand off and keep
it.” -she said as she then looked to Trudy and back to Charlie.-
“See, I got a think about people touching my property. And Paul
Runyon over here. That’s my property. I always told him that if
I ever found out another woman has touched him, I would rip
their hands off. I also told him, that if he ever thought about
touching another woman, I’d cut his arms off, then his legs and
drag his quartered torso out in a field to meet the sun.” -she
then took a step closer to Charlie but still kept some
distance.- “Now I want you to imagine that if I could do that to
the man I love with all my heart, what I would do to my enemies.
Do we have a deal?” -she asked him, and granted it wasn’t what
they came here for, but Trudy had opened her mouth for the last
time. If she had stayed silent, Jane might have been able to let
it go.-
“Jane.” -she said to him so incase he did want to make the deal,
she was giving him her real name.-

Rex had seen revivals like this when he was a kid. His
grandmother took him, and many of her neighbors had been in
attendance. Those shows and set ups were sadder, poorer. Tents
with holes that had been patched by quilts. Everyone dirty, half
without shoes, trying to scratch together to nickels for a
family of baptists to speak in tongues and get bit by snakes.
But in a world so small and cold as the backwoods of Louisiana,
faith was enough to get them through the week. This was
different.
The Ministry, the Followers of Set, whatever their moniker, were
devotees to a religion of decadence and deviance. Corruptors,
Tempters, Serpents. Many had accused them of being Infernalists,
consorting with demons and stealing the souls of mortal and
Kindred alike. Bigoted prejudices tainted by Christian faiths —
just like the one that Uncle Cherub Charlie pretended to be a
bastion of. Because if you can’t beat them, you infiltrate them,
and make them join you.
The Camarilla would never accept the Clan because of their
devotion to their Antedeluvian, Set, for whom they promised to
darken the souls of all that walked the Earth. The Sabbat
likewise rejected them, save the heretics of the clan that
denounced their progenitor. The Anarchs, for the most part, had
never shaken the prejudices of the past surrounding the
Serpents. Trust wasn’t easy to come by as a vampire, and
stereotypes about ones clan didn’t help matters. But at the same
time, Rex was seeing why they had been so mistrusted, so feared.
They were powerful, and organized, and batshit fucking crazy.
Jane would see one of Charlie’s brows cock from behind his
glasses as she spoke of a deal. Like any charlatan, he was a
natural businessman, so she had his curiosity. But she fully
grabbed his attention when she said what that deal was. Both
brows rose at the audacious nature. Trudy began to protest, and
Charlie removed his glasses, looking Trudy in the eyes.
“Hold yo tongue, woman, or I’ll remove it again.” And then he
smiled at Jane, waving a hand for her to continue. Trudy seemed
frozen in place, incensed but unable to open her mouth in
protest.
The anger and the bluster were a little much for the pastor, but
he let the girl get out the words. “Girl, you crazier than a
shithouse rat. I like you. So you sayin’ I let you rip my
niece’s hand off, you gonna owe Uncle Cherub Charlie a boon?”
Trudy stomped her foot, and Charlie hissed at her while
approaching Jane. Rex had put a hand on her arm, but that would
have done fuck all. He did not like the idea of his girlfriend
owing this guy anything. Charlie reached his hand out for her to
shake.
“Oh, we got us a deal.”
“Uncle Cherub Charlie! This is bullshit!”
Charlie ripped away from Jane, his eyes turning serpentine, his
fangs descending into long spikes that slid past his chin. The
growl that came out wasn’t human, but all three could perfectly
hear his command.
“Give her your mother-fuckin’ hand.”
Petrified, Trudy walked towards Jane, slowly holding her hand
out as if to shake it. Charlie’s appearance toned back down, and
he watched with almost wicked anticipation.

-Rex might have been grabbing at air, because she slipped
through his fingers when he tried to grab it. It wasn’t meant to
be that way, it was just how she moved a little closer to
Charlie. She still hated that she couldn’t look him in the eyes,
but that was for her own safety. She knew what he was capable
of. She also knew the Followers of Set were a different breed
then most of the vampires she dealt with. She was aware of their
beliefs, though she still didn’t know everything. She had only
been a vampire for a little over 30 years, and if one thought
that was enough time to learn all the different clans and their
intricates rituals, they would be mistake. Also, it didn’t help
that she really didn’t spend that much time learning about
things. Just the basics of what she would need to know.
One of those warnings was to stay away from Followers of Set,
and certainly not owe them a boon, but you put a Brujah with
heightened emotions in the mix, and you get nothing bad
decisions. She might have gone on a rant, but that was just how
angry she had been at Trudy. The moment Trudy tried to protest
and Charlie shut her down she knew she had a deal. Once again
had she not opened her mouth Jane might have realized how stupid
this was, how truly terrible this was. She had second
thoughts..but they didn’t last long.-
“Fuck it.” -she said and with out saying another word she shook
his hand with out looking him in the eyes. But just as quickly
as they shook hands he was away from her. She caught his eyes
and almost for a second looked into them. She wanted to see
them. She was so curious about him, that this was bad news.
Jane then sauntered closer to Trudy who had her arm out. A
malicious smile crossed over her features.- “I told you, that I
would tell Uncle Charlie that you were doing a fantastic job.”
-her words dripped with malice. Those words she had spoke to
Trudy before they walked into the tent were there to serve a
warning to the woman.- “I’ll make this as painful as possible.”
-She then gripped Trudy’s hand, she held the woman’s small wrist
in her smaller hands and then in a quick fashion, one by one she
broke Trudy’s fingers. With each crack of the bone she smiled.
She took pleasure in causing her pain. Charlie was right, she
was crazier then a shithouse rat. She then pulled Trudy in, her
foot went into the woman’s stomach and with one quick push of
her foot and pull of her hands Trudy’s arm ripped off at the
shoulder. Blood lightly glittering on Jane, lucky enough she was
wearing all black. One had to think if that was a conscience
choice. Trudy had just fed, and while she might not bleed a lot
Jane had severed her arm from her shoulder. She held the arm up
and just looked at it.-
“Whoops. Didn’t mean to take the whole arm.” -she said but then
she moved the arm so that she was holding the hand and letting
the arm hang down by her side as if she was holding onto her
purse.- “Sorry about that. I only asked for the hand.” -she once
again looked at the arm that was dangling and back to Charlie.-
“Here I was thinking I wasn’t going to have any fun tonight. I
mean the night is still young for it to turn sour, but I don’t
want it to turn sour. Do you?” -she asked Charlie then she
turned to look at Rex and she knew she was getting an earful on
the way home.- “Do you?” -she asked him anyways before turning
her attention back on Charlie.- “
“I actually came to ask a question and I was going to save my
deal for that.” -she said toeing the ground as if she was not
holding a severed arm.- “I guess I jumped the gun a little.”
-she spoke so casually as if she was explaining she saved him
the last cup cake but the dog ate it.-
