I am a forest, and a night of dark trees: but they who are not
afraid of my darkness, will find banks full of roses under my
       cypresses.

ALL: Martin and his woman parted ways for a bit once Corso
arrived to escort her around. There ware some arrangements for
their Companionship she wanted to see without him. He decided to
take advantage of the moment to go and take in some of the
games. Walking along the track, it was the Feat of Strength that
got his attention first. Primarily because it shockingly had the
smallest line. Then again, he supposed those determined to prove
themselves the strongest would have been chomping at the bit to
be the first to carry the mighty stone.
He gave a nod to the man watching over the game and confirmed
the seeming simplicity of the game. Grab the stone. Lift it. Try
and carry it across the field to the other side. As basic a game
as one might expect. They keep things simple in the North."
Martin entrusted his weapons to the game-tender. The last thing
he needed was his axe or hunting knife sticking him as he
pressed to the stone. He paused to let his fingers sink into the
stone. With a deep breath, he grunted and heaved the stone,
slowly striding for the finish line.

ALL: Martin was strong. There was little doubt of that to look
at him. While there were larger men in the North, he was closer
to 7 feet tall than 6 in his boots and nearly halfway between
both in his bare feet. As such, there was no surprise that he
made a good showing on his first go. Indeed, he ALMOST got to
the finish line. Perhaps a dozen feet or so his grip gave out
and the stone came to rest in the ground before him. He gasped
as he pitched forward and leaned on the stone before making his
way back to the start where a second stone waited.
"A fine effort," said the game tender with a nod. "Best this
morning, in fact. Need a bracer before you try again? Or will
       you let that stand?"
Martin shook his head and made his way to the second of the
stones. Once his breath was caught, he touched the stone,
       exhaled, gripped, and lifted.

ALL: This second effort was not so good. He was barely half as
far as he'd traveled in his first attempt when his grip gave
out. Martin cursed himself, thinking he should have dried his
hands first before trying to grip the stone. He sighed and
headed back to the start line barely winded.
"Not bad, Ranger, not bad," said the game-keeper. "Luckily only
your best try is counted. Not your last one. And you do have one
       left."
Martin nodded as he exhaled. "Good to know," he said softly
before moving to the third stone. This time, he rubs his hands
with his cloak before he touches the stone and finds a place to
grip. Another exhale. Another heft and heave. And so he strides
       again.

ALL: Alas, it seems the Ranger pushed himself to his limits on
the first try. But it was a good try.
Martin stumbled forward and the rock slipped from his grip. He
said nothing. Merely went to the other side of the great stone
and started rolling it back to the starting line. His hands hurt
a bit from the grip but he could still roll the stone easily
enough and reset things for the next player.
       FINAL SCORE: 87
