Rules for Archery

Archery: (Free Men & Women)
The Objective:
Fire 3 arrows at the target. Highest score wins.
Rules:
Three (3) posts of prowess with the bow.
Roll a 20-sided die (1d20) after each shot.
Die rolls of 1-5 is worth 1 point.
Die rolls of 6-10 is worth 2 points.
Die rolls of 11-15 is worth 3 points.
Die rolls of 16-20 is worth 4 points.
Please post scripts of your archery turns for tallying of
points.
**This game was added from the PoD Forums, thank you for your
ingenuity! I did switch it to be a 1d20 for outcome and
scoring.**

...Longbow Hunter... : She let a slight squeak past her lips as
he pulled her into his arms, a smile on her lips as she looked
up at him and hugged him close. She was so lucky to have him, it
was hard to think that the gods were blessing her with more luck
after giving her Martin. She followed him from the Hall, and
back out into the cold where they made their way over to the
archery range. "You should not need luck here my love!"

one of the hunters (who was supervising the contest) smiled at
the sight of them. "Ah! The Ranger and the Physician. I've been
wondering when Freeports foremost children of the Green would
show up and show us how it is done."
Martin shook his had as he started to unshoulder his own bow. "I
think my Mate is going to show me up. I think I strained my hand
at the Feat of Strength and she's got Frey's own luck."
As she said he had no need for luck, Martin grinned. "In that
case, I shall take the first shot and hopefully set the
standard."
He was an old-hand at these things of course. The longbow as
perhaps a bit of overkill on this small range, but there was
little danger he'd obliterate the target. He planted his feet,
as he'd shown Kardelen what seemed an eternity ago. He
considered the wind... eyed the target... drew the arrow, pulled
back and released!

...Longbow Hunter... : Kardelen's blush on her cheeks deepened
as the man attending the lane called out to the pair of Martin &
Kardelen, who weren't even dressed in Green today, having chosen
to wear red for the festival. "Oh have some hope love, my luck
is not endless!" She called as she took started to prep her own
bow and ready herself for the lanes.
She was good with letting him go first though. She stood back as
she adjusted the string, made sure it was affixed and ready. She
checked her quiver, the arrows, and everything to make sure she
was ready. She didn't bother with her gloves. Needing to feel
the string as she watched Martin take his first shot. His arrow
thunked into the target, and then it was her turn.
She stepped up to the line, and took up her position as well.
She canted her body to the side her left arm raised with the
bow, she kept her legs shoulder width apart, kept her weight on
the balls of her feet, and drew her first arrow. She knocked the
arrow to the front rest, and drew back the string till her
fingertips brushed her cheek, and then exhaling a cloudy breath,
she let the arrow fly as she took aim.

--|Primum, non Nocere|--: Martin looked to his Mate and didn't
say a word at first. Then he walked up to her and whispered
"Endless luck."
He turned around and sighted the target, standing back slightly
further than the firing line. Maybe he was too close to be
accurate with a longbow? Yes that would make sense. He
calculated the shot in his head and tried not to pull back so
far. A little less pull to compensate and.... release.

...Longbow Hunter... : She chuckled softly and stepped back to
let him take the spot for firing. "I don't know what is going on
this day, but granted, you did beat me in anything during the
Fair... so perhaps this is me making up for that?" She winced a
little, she didn't want to beat him in archery, that was
supposed to be his thing!
When it was again her turn, she stepped back forward, with a
heavy sigh she lifted her bow, planted her feet, distributed her
weight, and set another arrow before drawing back the string.
She sighted down the shaft, exhaled, and let the arrow fly.

didn't set a wager this time. So you can't fear what I might
demand. Though I think we both wound up a little richer for that
adventure." he said with a smile. The meaning was for them and
them alone and the game-tender was wise enough to ignore
whatever Martin was implying.
He drew a third of the clothyard shafts he had whittled himself
and readied the shot. Half-pulled. further back. It might work
this time. He think he had the measure of it now.

...Longbow Hunter... : She couldn't help but blush as he brought
up their last wager and their journey home. "True there is
nothing to fear..." She said with a chuckle as she watched him
take his final shot with a solid hit. She didn't know if her
luck would hold or if she would miss terribly. She took a deep
breath, and made her way to the line, drawing her final arrow
and preparing to take the shot.
She steadied herself, canted her body to the side, lifted her
bow, and drew back the string. Narrowing blue-grey eyes at the
target, exhaling a breath, she released the string and set the
final of her arrows down the lane.
