       searching for a very special kind of smell...

       hi!
       just outside of where I live here in Norway, there's a bike
       track that have a lot of old tree logs stacked along the way.
       they are also covered in tar (or greasy oil), like the old
       railroad tracks logs if anyone get the vibe i'm thinking of.
       now, I've always loved that special kind of tree/tar-smell and
       recently I've wondered; are there any perfumes that captures
       this type of smell?
       i bought a small bottle of birch tar oil, but that was too harsh
       (missing the woody scents i smell from the log)
       i also have Black by CdG, but that's much more smoky smelling
       (like a burnt match)
       any suggestions for a perfume that reflects this special
       combination of tar and wood?

       Got just the thing, I think: It's called "Ýdalir" by Alkemia (on
       Etsy). It's not in the database, and Alkemia doesn't always
       carry it in stock. If they're out, you could contact them; maybe
       they've got some lying around. I've spent a good amount of time
       in Sweden and Norway, and it smells very similar to what you're
       describing. I love it for that exact reason. Their prices are
       quite low as well.
