       Can I use antacids in place of calcium?

       I was reading my bottle of antacid tablets and saw that each
       tablet contains 1,000 mg of calcium.  That's the amount I'm
       supposed to take twice a day.  Can I use these tablets instead?
       They are so much cheaper than regular calcium tabs.

       Nope :(
       From Oklahoma State University:
       An adequate supply of stomach acid is necessary for calcium
       absorption. Antiacids reduces stomach acid so it could reduce
       calcium absorption.
