So: have any of you tried CBD oil (or tincture, what have you)?
People I know who have used it have been pleased with it and
have said it gives them a distinctive feeling of calmness, but
they haven't actually felt high.

I use it to help me sleep. No high at all from CBD oil, you need
THC to get that. ;D

I've tried CBD capsules, (without THC) and I didn't notice much
of a difference when I took them. They didn't help me sleep
either, but maybe I need to try them again for consecutive days.
I still have a bottle of them somewhere. I'll try it again and
get back with you if the results change.

I bought a bottle for around $60 to vape and see if it would
help with my joint pains, anxiety, and insomnia. I did not know
it could be overdone and vaped a dripperful like I would
normally vape my regular juice. It tasted terrible!
Well I went home and went right to sleep for a few hours and
felt off for the whole next day! To be clear, I was not high,
but it was not the way I normally feel either.
I locked it up and forgot about it until now. I need to look up
the proper dosage and try just taking that by mouth only at
night. The CBD I have is vegetable glycerin based and can be
used as a food or to be vaped. It is pretty gross though!
I suppose it can help with the sleep but only having used it
once I don't know what to say except that on first impression, I
believe it can be effective for that.
There are a few people I know that swear by it for sleep and
pain. I just didn't notice any miracle pain relief on my one try
or anything.
Well thanks for the reminder. I am going to get it out now and
try it nightly for a while to see what happens.

Yes, CBD is good for pain, but not so much for sleep or much of
a "high". Like mentioned before, you will likely need THC for
that. However, I can see how CBD can help with sleep if it is
masking pain and making you feel more relaxed as you may no
longer be focused the pain. Also, sometimes CBD strains may
contain small amounts of THC. It's worth a try if you are having
issues with pain, but if you're specifically looking for
something to aid in sleep, I'd look for an indica strain.
Everyone reacts differently to MJ, though. I know someone who
prefers sativa for sleep, and a friend of mine uses CBD for
pain, which makes her feel more relaxed, so take my advice with
a grain of salt and try them all (if you can, depending on where
you live/where it is legal) to see what works for you.

CBD oil can be bought in a drugstore (where you buy hair
products and makeup) here. It is supposed to relax, and as
mentioned release pain.
It is very soft tho, if one expects to "feel something", most
probably won't.
Something like drinking valeriana tea, soft and natural.
