Eau Sauvage - new vs. vintage

So I've recently discovered Christian Dior Eau Sauvage.
I know, I'm a few decades late to the party, but I'm loving it
nonetheless. I've only tried the new (i.e., reformulated)
version so far, and the only downside is the one that
practically everyone points out: the longevity. Even so, I get
about 4 hours out of it, which isn't terrible. I'm not too hung
up on longevity.
But still, I've been thinking about trying the vintage. Is it
generally believed to have better longevity? How about other
differences? I'd love to hear the opinions of people who've
experienced ES both pre- and post-reformulation. Which do you
think is better, and why?

It's a beautiful fragrance, HoF quality without reservation. I
have't experienced the vintage formula; however, there are
several reviews on here that summarize the differences between
the vintage and current formulation. I certainly get good
longevity (8hrs+) with a few spritzes on my shirt.

Vintage was moderate at best. 4-6 hours.

Interesting. If that's the case, I might not bother buying one
of the vintage minis I've seen for sale on eBay, and just go
ahead and buy a FB off FragranceNet.
