Home Perfume making...

I have startet to play with the thought of making my own perfume
with natural essensial oils.
I have decided it at least has to be vanilla or tonka bean (but
I think tonka bean essensial oil i very exepencive)in it.
If you could choose about five notes to make your own personal
perfume, what would it be?

I do this! It is fun, but can be a very expensive hobby.
You should try it, Boggi! There is a wonderful group over on
yahoo dedicated to natural perfumery. I learned a lot of great
info there.
My picks would be: patchouli, vetiver, jasmine grandiflorum,
clove and blood orange. (I have not tried this particular
combo, but these are five scents I love.)

Some time ago i was collecting information on perfume making. I
want to share some with you :)
Some recipes of fragrances:
Tender Mercies:
lavender Oil - 2 drops
carnation Oil - 4 drops
juniper Oil - 3 drops
jasmine Oil - 2 drops
ylang-ylang - 3 drops
Sultans Pleasure:
patchouli - 2 drops
lavender - 2 drops
ylang-ylang - 3 drops
jasmine - 1 drop
Bocquet:
Bois de Rose - 10 drops
Palmarosa - 7 drops
Rose Geranium - 5 drops
Ylang Ylang - 5 drops
Patchouli - 1 drop
Labdanum - 1 drop
Frankincense - 1 drop
Warrior:
Nutmeg - 2 drops
Litsea Cubeba - 1 drop
Jasmine - 4 drops
Clary Sage - 10 drops
Sandalwood - 4 drops
Frankincense - 4 drops

My top five would be neroli, jasmine, blood orange, vetiver and
nutmeg.
BTW, Mandy Aftel of Aftelier Perfumes puts out a nice little
book that would be good for beginning natural perfumery called
"Scents and Sensibilities".
