Collecting vs Hoarding

I call myself a user-collector, I buy perfumes and I have
almost 80 full bottles and over 100 samples... so yes I DO
collect perfume, but I wear all that I have, I don't just buy it
to keep in the box just to know I have got that particular
perfume.
I know a lot of people that collect various things, and it goes
unused and pristine still in it's box, it's been bought purely
to add to a collection. I personally don't see the point in
that, I buy it because I want, love, miss it, so I wear it.
What about you guys here? ;D
Do you wear all you own like I do, or do some of you just buy
the perfume just to know that you have it in your collection?

I have around 150 perfumes, plus various samples and decants. I
do my best to wear everything :)

I feel very similarly.
I'm definitely a collector, but I all of my buys are planned
consciously. I hardly ever blind buy or impulse buy anymore.
If I spend money on something, I want to use it. And if I don't
plan to use it, I don't buy it.
If a perfume sits in my wardrobe for too long without using it,
it starts to bother me after a while. If I know I won't be using
it in the future, I sell it or swap it.

I've always been more like a joyous user than a collector.
Now I have a small collection, but I love them all! :P
I think that having about 80 scents, I'd feel overwhelmed.
Number is just a number and it's unimportant. It only counts if
you love your scents or not.

Great topic! I am a perfume lover and I wear and enjoy my
collection. I am an occasual hoarder of discontinued scents ( as
in back ups), only because I know their price will be beyond my
reach in the future and I might not even be able to find them
anymore.
But I only hoard discontinued scents with the intention of using
them in the future, or maybe selling or swapping them.
I do wear all my scents but I notice I don't enjoy some of my
scents as much as I used to and I'm in the process of
decluttering my collection, which is very hard.
I'm also on a current slow buy and I intend to keep it that way
for the future, no more impulsive blind buys, no more bargain
buys unless I really love the scent, and I intend to show more
love and gratitude towards my current collection instead of
endless buying.

I'm deffinitely a user but somehow the numbers accumulated over
the years. I also have at least 10 more bottles in backups,
maybe more.
It bothers me sometimes, but then I think so what, its just
perfume. It's meant to be enjoyed, why stress over numbers. I
rotate based on month and season, finish a good amount of scents
every year and I have discovered my true loves.
I'd love to have around 25. Not sure when I will achieve that.
Perhaps I'll join the Project Finish Bottle again and attack
those with 7ml and less left in them. I could easily have 3 per
month if I chose to. Hmmm...that's exactly what I'm going to do.
