[Class] FOTM builds for Necromancer

---------------------------------------------------------
=========
Introduction
=========
This build is not the max dps build a Necromancer can do, but
it's pretty damn close and is a lot more survivable than the
highest dps build. Oh and yes I run it at 48.
=========
Armor Set:
=========
All Zerker, all the time. Unfortunately conditions are
sub-optimal in PvE and direct damage is king, even at lvl 48.
Scholar Runes for the increased damage all around.
=========
Trinket Set:
=========
Full zerker.
=========
Weapons:
=========
Zerker Axe with either; Sigil of Force, Sigil of Strength, Sigil
of Night
Zerker Focus with any of the previous sigils
Zerker warhorn for the other off-hand with similar sigils. Just
be aware 2 of the same sigil dont stack. IMO warhorn should have
the same sigil as focus since you switch between them
Staff of some kind - Some fights require you to range far and
have big spike damage that you will need to soak up with
deathshroud. These fights are the Ice/Dredge boss in the dredge
fractal, and Captain Ashym. Oh and its helpful for ranging the
maw tentacles so you dont get treated like a hentai schoolgirl.
=========
Traits:
=========
30/10/0/0/30 Standard Deathshroud Build.
In Spite you want VI for extra might on life blast, VII for
increased axe damage (this makes your deathshroud hit 20% harder
as well if you are wielding an axe) and XII for more damage when
they are below half health.
In curses you want to swap between IV, V, and IV depending on
the situation. Sometimes if you are stacking in melee, the
weakness from IV can be beneficial. V is ok for refilling some
life force, though its a pretty pittance amount and should only
be used when you dont need the other two. VI is useful if you
want to stay at around ~600 range but want to run the 2 damaging
wells.
In Soul Reaping you'll want II for staying in shroud longer, VI
for piercing life blasts that also apply vulnerability, and XII.
This trait is what makes this build good. You run with ~43% crit
and with food you can get to around 50% easily. This makes ANY
ATTACK YOU DO WHILE IN DEATH SHROUD HAVE 100% CRIT CHANCE
INCLUDING WELLS!!!! So, its really really good. Sometimes if I
switch out to staff for certain fights I will run X instead of
II in soul reaping to fill up my bar faster.
=========
Skills:
=========
Consume Conditions - hands down. Almost every necro spec should
run this regardless.
Spectal Wall - if you need to fear a line of mobs (Ascalon,
Dredge fractals)
Spectral grasp -If you need to pull things or just to refill
your life force (Pull the veteran kitties to the corner in
Un-categorized fractal)
Any of the 4 wells as the situation needs, mostly the 2 damaging
ones but you can use blindness if you need to stack in melee and
want to mitigate some damage.
Signet of Locust - I run this almost all the time just because
you need to run ALL THE TIME either through trash or to kite
bosses or whatever. Im too lazy to switch it for every fight as
needed.
Signet of Undeath - This is to either rez the NPCs in the
ascalon fractal or your teammates if you notice a bunch of them
going down a lot. The passive life force generation is a nice
bonus, but its really too small to warrant a permanent slot.
Elite Skill - Flesh Golem for dps, Plague for blindness tanking
mobs, Lich for if you need ranged and want to not deplete your
deathshroud for any incoming spike damage (Ashym/Dregde boss)
=============
Playing this build:
=============
Generate life force with Axe #2 and Focus#4 then pop into
Deathshroud and spam 1. Its almost that easy. You have to stay
within 600 range though or your life blasts wont hit as hard,
though if you need to range this is still the best option. you
can use #5 and #4 for AoE pulls, but try to line up mobs in a
line as your blasts pierce and do the most damage. you can use
#3 the fear as needed. Use #2 when running through trash to get
ahead or to get back into the fray if you're far away for some
reason.
Other tips: Use your other weapon skills for their utility as
needed. Axe #3 is a good cripple when you need to kite. Warhorn
#4 is good for dazing mobs though it has a short range. You can
use warhorn #5 and then pop into deathshroud and it will keep
your deathshroud bar full until the ability wears off. Really
good skill especially in AOE pulls.
As I said in the beginning, this spec is super tanky because you
have as a Necromancer a huge amount of health already, and death
shroud is a 1 to 1 ratio of your health so you basically have 2x
as much health. BUT with 30 points in soul reaping you get 30%
more life force so its really like 2.3x as much health.
So yeah, this build is completely viable for lvl 48 (I'd argue
more than most other necro builds) and you should play it and
love it. I know I do :D :D :D
