The Toydarian Festival of Meats as presented by Lallow Farms,
begins next week on Toydaria and is expected to attract some 800
million people from across Tresario space and the
galaxy-at-large. Famous for its gastronomic oddities like the
nerf-encrusted deep-fried Quizzler stuffed with chocolate and
the D`oemir Bear stuffed Corellian Sand Panther served on a
crown roast of bantha and drizzled with liquified Chandrilian
nerf cheese, this year’s festival is expected to see exciting
creations and new fan favorites from the galaxy’s top chefs.
Festival officials have announced that select vintage fan
favorites of the past will make a surprise return this year, but
no rumors have broken out concerning which fan favorites of
decades past will be making an unexpected return.
Last year a relatively unknown amateur from Tatooine Piktit
Niziz, a Jawa outcast from the Western Dune landscape clan,
burst out onto the galactic stage after wooing the festival
attendants with his Tatooine Dragon Stew. Piktit Niziz was able
to turn his success at the Toydarian Festival of Meats into an
empire of food, as he monetized his new fame into a line of
prepackaged foods, a kid-friendly chain concept called Sandy
Dunes Eateries, and began hosting a cooking show on the
holonet’s Galactic Cuisines Channel. This year’s festival has
seen a flood of registrations for food tents, as aspiring chefs
hope to follow in Piktit’s footsteps and rocket into galactic
fame. Piktit announced early last month that he would be
attending the festival again this year, and serve another
Tatooine inspired dish out of his Seltiss-2 Caravel barge turned
mobile food barge. Since Piktit’s announcement, registrations
have been flooding in for food barge permits at the festival and
the festival staff have launched a separate food barge section
of the fair as well as a cook-off competition.
The fan favorite chefs for the cook-off competition as we head
into the festival are:
[li]an Ithorian amateur Tush Caatarn who has wooed the fan base
with his sustainable organic cuisine revival;[/li]
[li]an Anzati master chef Mofeus Malazard who ironically is
revered for his mastery of chilled soups, hot, savoury stews,
and hot soups, though his recipe repertoire lacks the infamous
Anzati soup;[/li]
[li]a Selkath chef Charti Noytki who is known for his
presentational flair and proficiency at serving dishes from
across the oceanic and land spheres, with his most famous dish
being Corellian Sea Ray Chowder;[/li]
[li]an Ewok amateur known for his aptitude at roasting and of
course his Nabooian Foxtail Roast.[/li]
Piktit’s fame has not only boosted attendance and excitement in
the Toydarian Festival of Meats, but has peaked interests in the
entire galactic festival season and the regional festival season
in particular. Tresario space is set to host a number of high
profile festivals over the remainder of the season including the
Centares Wild Flixin Berries Festival, the Ingo III Festival of
Flowers, and the Ket`alis Holofilm Festival. Registrations at
the events have already doubled compared to last year, showing
the resounding popularity of such cultural events. This festival
season looks to be very promising, and many social calendars
will likely be booked to accommodate these exciting cultural
events.
