My writing is rusty

It has been awhile (years) since I have written fanfiction. So
far my stories have been rejected by sites I used to post
easily. I need a refreshers course/tutorial on writing proper
fanfiction again. Any suggestions?

What i recommend is just start writing. Maybe do a outline if
that helps you. Just write. Then before you submit anything
re-read it. Make sure there's correct grammar and spelling.
Double check your paragraphs. Then read it out loud. Your ear
will catch a lot of mistakes. One that is all done, try posting
it again. If it still gets rejected, the proceed to find
yourself a beta reader.
Also, if there is spelling errors I apologize. I'm using my
phone and this stupid IOS7 is very touchy.

I agree. Just start writing. Get yourself in your best writing
mood, too. Sometimes when I wanna write, I get myself one of my
favorite drinks, get in my favorite spot on the bed with a bunch
of pillows, get my favorite pen and notebook and just put down
random stuff.
I would suggest trying it on a day when you don't have to do
anything, or as a way to wind down after a stressful day. It
doesn't have to be fanfiction. Write about whatever comes to
your mind. It could be your day at work, something you saw or
read that interested you. Inspiration can come from
anywhere...and the more you write, the better you get. I find
that I do my best work when I don't try to force it. Maybe the
same goes for you.
I like to carry a notebook with me wherever I go just in case I
get an idea. Just little things. They may not go anywhere, or
they could be the next awesome writing project you start. As
long as you keep yourself writing, you can only get better.
I hope that helped..

Thank you so much ladies! I will try these methods soon and hope
something good comes!
It's been so long I forgot how much writing anything can help.

Yep, the best methods that I've found were to:
1) Just write to get the idea down.
2) Read over it to catch the big errors.
3) Let it sit for a day or so.
4) Come back to your story with a fresh mind and reread it.
5) Find a beta or two to help catch anything else. (Generally
when I used betas, I tried to get three at a time to catch
everything. But be careful with your betas...)
6) Reread it again and out loud slowly. (As mentioned, hearing
yourself read it will catch a good majority of the errors.)
Wash, rinse, and repeat. :)

Haha, the way I do it is pretty bad.
I wing it to see what I can come up with, once that's over, I
re-read it and fix anything I must before re-reading it again.

I'm much the same way. I never plan anything when I write.
Whatever fandom I'm stuck in, I'll get a flash of the setting
for that chapter and just go from there. Trying to organize and
plan, even a little, just destroys the entire thing for me. Like
digging for diamonds~ I like to be surprised as I go or else I
just get bored if I know what's gonna happen.
I'm weird. And make no sense. *floats away*

Maybe that's why my writing has been stagnant. I've been trying
to stick to the outline too tough. Wings shall be grown and used

failed attempt at "*One-sided* Reader x Finn Macauley"
