I'm really pleased to see a successful writer of Rebecca's
calibre joining our group. We must be almost at our ceiling
       membership, now.

I think you're right Andy we risk getting too big if we don't
cap membership at twenty. The group can get unwieldy if everyone
       turns up at meetings.

A cap of twenty is probably a good idea, especially bearing in
mind that that the last time we capped membership, we also
passed a rule that former members are always welcome/eligible to
rejoin, and there seems to be a possibility of some ex-members
returning to the fold (someone said Jo Darling might come back,
and Jane Rogers hinted that she might return (at Brian's
book-launch). I'd hoped that Helen might come back to us, but
Susan doesn't seem to think there's much chance of that. How or
if we do this is up to you guys of course, but I would suggest a
cap of 20 or 22 (plus the acceptance that it can go beyond that
if ex-members want to rejoin). Alternatively we could just say
25 is the absolute limit and we definitely stop if membership
ever gets to that. I wouldn't have thought it would, but after
the sharp rise over the last twelve months, who knows?
