Q: 3rd; best qualifying position of my F14Fun career! I did a
high 1:18, the fastest lap I've done in any practice session
yet. I was pumped...
R: 5th + 20sec penalty; decent launch off the line and was
hoping to grab the inside of turn 2 on Livo, but Kiwi whacked me
right off the racing line and I shot across the chicane. I tried
to rejoin right back in 3rd place where I belonged, but instead
of seeing Livo come out on the other side, I saw Gazza. I
continued on in 3rd with Macca a couple of seconds behind, I
cycled up to 2nd when I noticed that Gazza was entering pit lane
to serve a penalty. On lap 3, Macca and Livo both had DRS behind
me and closed up right behind me at turn 1 of lap 4. At turn 3,
Macca was on my inside, and the spot was his, but I didn't want
Livo to take advantage also, so I tried to come right back
behind Macca, but he turned the right earlier than I thought and
I got spun out. Josh came past me as well, and wound up hitting
the gravel in the first Lesmo and coming across the track. I had
to go wide to avoid him and I got another hit from Kiwi as I
went into the gravel to avoid Josh. A very rough lap 4 that
was....
I chased down Kiwi for the next 3 laps before pitting for primes
on lap 7. I beat Kiwi out of the pits and handily pulled away
from him at that point. Macca was about 8 sec ahead, and by the
time the next pit stop came around, I had closed the gap down to
5 seconds. I pitted for options on lap 21 and on my out lap, I
closed 2 seconds on Macca just like that. He just beat me to
turn 1 after pitting on lap 23. I remained about 2 seconds ahead
of me, and I noticed that i was catching him quickly at the exit
of the 2nd lesmo. I earned DRS on lap 25 and considered going
down the inside of turn 1, but was too risky so instead I ran
into the back of him at the entry of turn 1 due to high speed. I
hit the gravel in the 2nd lesmo pushing too hard and Macca
earned a nice gap to me. I was just on the cusp of earning DRS
on lap 26, but could do nothing with it. At that point I was
pretty much done for, so I was happy with 4th...
...until I saw I had a 20 second penalty. Completely baffled by
this one...I got a warning when Kiwi hit me the 2nd time for
causing a collision, and I think I cut maybe 4 or 5 corners all
race long. The only thing I could come up with is that I might
have lapped Josh when there was a yellow flag (the 2nd time
around I believe it was), but I don't remember seeing a penalty
pop up on the screen at all....
Not gonna make a big stink of it though...the game just has the
stupidest penalty system I've ever encountered before and I
guess it's just one of those things..
I can't really assign driver of the day to any one person in
particular, as the only person I shared track with for the most
part is Macca....so I guess he is gonna get the honors!

Q - 1
Got into the high 1:17s. Didn't think that would be good enough
for pole, but it turned out to be. Was on a faster lap but
screwed up the final corner.
R - 2
Had a fairly quiet race for a change. Was a bit worried that I
might have caused the problems in turn 1 by breaking a bit early
but it sounds like it was because of a collision in the pack.
At the end of the first stint I was maybe 5 sec ahead of Livo
after he had recovered from whatever happened to him at the
start. I almost decided to switch to a 2 stop but, having never
done a long race at Monza, I wasn't sure if it would work out.
But when I went in for my 2nd stop and Livo stayed out I
realised that he was probably on the 2 stop strategy. If I had 2
stopped as well I think I'd have been closer at the end, but I
doubt I'd have been able to match Livo's pace over the race.
There was a really strange moment when I came up behind Livo
about half way through the race and he was going really slow for
a couple of corners. I couldn't help running into him. No idea
what was going on there. I thought he might have lost his front
wing, but he was soon back up to normal racing speed.
Like a lot of the races we've done, I was again really
competitive in quali, but not quite so good in the race. That's
what comes from doing practice in TT mode I suppose.
So that might be my last race in the league. Really sorry to
have to drop out, especially as it seems that some other people
have stopped turning up. I only realised about half way through
the race that Striker wasn't there!

Q: 2nd. Had a shocker in Qualy. Kept cnr cutting turn 3.
R: 1st. Managed my car safely through the 1st turn giving
Supanash space & then got whacked on the exit to put me in the
sand pit. Think it was Gazza? Slowly managed my way through the
field although my team mate didn't make it easy initially. Then
I lost a heap of time lapping Kiwi, wouldn't let me pass ???
which is why I then had Supanash right behind me.
Had the pace & the strategy to recover for a comfortable win.
Gonna miss you Supanash. Send me some invites when ur online.
;)

Qually - 4th could of done a bit better.
Got a good start, went into turn 1 thought Livo was allready out
the other side then I smacked him into the gravel, sorry Livo,
got a drive through for my efforts, put me back to last, had to
try and regain some positions, raced pretty much by myself for
the rest of the race, ended up 4th, not happy with myself, could
of been better result, had good pace, thats racing.
Driver of the Day, I would have to say Livolay, good stratergy,
Supanash was very fast and to recover from me hitting him at the
start and go on to win, well done mate.
I am a bit dissapointed that everyone didn't show up, must of
been busy? Hmmm ::)
