Quallified on prime tires, was a couple of seconds off the pace,
pretty happy with that, had great pace, especially up the long
straights, started the race strong, picked up a few positions
before the top of the hill climb, came around second lap and had
a bit of a drift and lost those positions oh well my fault, was
starting the 4th lap, came around turn one, pedal to the floor,
looked down at the dogs at my feet, must have turned the wheel
and BANG! hit the f...ing wall and destroyed my car, was not
very happy with myself, I could of got a good result as I felt
pretty comfortable around this track, never mind, try again,
sorry Drew no points to add my bad. The dogs are going to pay!
just joking I will kill them slowly ha ha.
Well done Livo, another polished performance, pole and the win,
Driver of the Day.
Good on you Moss for keeping Livo honest for the best part of
the race.
Good racing guys, see you at Monza.

Couldn't have gone much worse for me. The first race I'd done a
good amount of practice for and was pretty confident. Had great
times in TT, GP offline, and even managed to do some online
practice over the xmas break too. We'd had a ghost car race the
night before and mine and Livo's cars were basically right on
top of each other the whole race.
So...
Q - not sure! 7th? Did one quali lap on primes, made some
mistakes and got a 1:42.x. Got distracted by my phone going off
on my in lap and ended up hitting a barrier at the wrong angle.
Terminal damage.
R - 5th. Tried my best to stay out of trouble for the early laps
but got spun out when Josh got it a bit wrong through Les
Combes. Last place. Was feeling pretty sorry for myself at that
stage and started treating it like a practice, messing around
with fuel setting to see what effect it had. I kept plugging
away though, and made some good strategy calls with the safety
car. I was somehow 3rd going into the very final chicane, but to
round off my terrible race ended up 5th! Lost one place to Moss
as he was on the right tyres (wet weather ones). That was fair
enough, but to lose another place to Striker, who crossed the
line behind me felt very unfair. Second time that's happened to
me. First time was at Monaco when Macca jumped me for the race
win.
Being held for a short time at the start doesn't really have any
impact over a 50% race, especially when there's a safety car, so
I think that the position you cross the line should be what
counts. I suppose I would say that, since I've been a victim of
it twice. Really, the best thing is to get held for a minute and
then hope for a safety car. As long as you can stay within 60
sec of the leader, you win!
I've had a really bad run of luck recently. Got a drive through
and a broken nose lapping Josh in Silverstone, had to disconnect
at the start of Nurburgring and now the events in Spa. Can only
get better I suppose!
In other news, Monza may be my last race but I'll write about
that in another thread.
