BELGIUM RACE REPORT ASF:
Q: 6th, my first run on options was the fastest. I attempted a
2nd and was about .8sec up, but I stuffed it down at the bottom
of the track in the gravel.
R: 6th, got a decent launch off the start line and went side by
side with Kiwi into turn 1 and gave him the spot. I drag raced
him down the kemmel straight and we went side by side through
all of les combes, and shot down to rivage where I was taking
the spot. I beat him around rivage and began chasing down Macca.
Was amazed how fast livo and moussa pulled way out just in 8
turns. EDIT: I remember sliding past Macca down at the bottom of
the track when Ben spun and nearly took Macca with him. I
threaded the needle and found myself sitting in 3rd at the end
of lap 1. Macca and I went to battle for the first 4 laps wheel
to wheel, paint scraping and all, until the safety car came out.
The 2nd stint between safety cars was rather boring to be
honest. Livo and Moussa pulled away and Macca and Striker were a
good 5+ seconds behind me. No news here.
When the 2nd safety car came out, I made the dumbest decision of
the race and stayed out when we came back around. I kicked
myself for not coming in to switch to primes to finish out the
race. I know I could have done it too because I was running
excellent lap times on my primes in the middle stint. So the
safety car comes in and within half a lap, Livo is gone, and I
find myself sitting alone yet again with no one around.
I was going to attempt to make it all the way to the end on
these tires...but I was already getting squirrely for most of
lap 18. I came in at the end of 18 to go on options and the team
gives me inters. Don't know why, so I just shrugged it off and
came back around again, making sure to select options 2x to make
sure, but the team gives me inters again!!! I was about to
retire the race, but I decided to stick it out and move on. The
rain began falling towards the end and I overtook Paul and Kiwi
at the very last turn of the last lap to finish 6th.
So fed up with this game and all of it's glitches. I don't know
why I continue to play it.
This was my best run of the season, I was on tap to get a podium
finish and it gets ruined by yet another Codemasters fail.

That sucks drew. Hard luck mate. Just a thought, I wonder if the
team gave you inters because you had no options left?
My report...
Q=4. R=2
Quali was a bit of a struggle only managed to just make the
second row on my last flying lap. Phew. Livo you are just
untouchable buddy, I may as well be driving a fiat bambina! I'd
love to just come close to your times. Well at least Im driving
consistently and keeping in touch with you guys I guess.
Race start was ok and I managed to get through turn one in one
piece Livo and moss headed off into the blue yonder as I was
dukeing it out hammer and tong with drew. For memory I think
Beno was in front of us and he spun in sector three and I only
just missed him.
Anyway drew managed a paint scrapin, tire rubbin, wing woblin
pass at the chicane. Lucky either one of use didn't end up
facing south. Good hard racing buddy.
Think I repassed ya in the drs zone though only for you to pass
me back the next lap and pull away. At that stage I thought I
would turn down my fuel and save a little for later which worked
out well.
I think my strategies worked out pretty well to which is always
a **** when they are made on the fly under safety car. On the
last safety car I thought I had blown it as I stopped and came
out dead last at the back of the snake but to my relief a few
cars pulled in on the next lap and I moved up to around fourth
behind kiwi drew and Livo.
Safety car came in and I had a good run on kiwi up the hill and
passed him for third then I set out to reel in drew with that
fuel that I had saved earlier in the race. Once I cought him I
could see he was pretty loose and was surprised when he pitted
on lap eighteen putting me up to second.
I was very stressed when it began to rain with three long laps
to go as I was on primes although they were in good shape which
helped. At that stage Livo was around six seconds up the road
and I was praying he would make a mistake in the treacherous
conditions but it wasn't to be. I nearly shat myself when I lost
the rear at the chicane on the last lap and I was doing a huge
drift while looking directly at the concrete wall at the edge of
the track. That was close luckily the old curry muncher handled
it and crossed the line with moss and Nash still behind. Talk
about skids in ya daks. Fark!!!
Stoked with second to be honest. Good racing guys and il see you
next week.
Hope my teammates back in action next week I need some help here
bro. Go the curry munchers.

@Macca Can't run out of tyres (unless punctured), if you use all
options then the worn ones go on which has happened to me.
I love Spa, what a circuit!
Early in the race I managed to pull a decent gap but the hard
work was undone with SC #1. Couldn't pull a gap on the restart
as Moss was putting me under sustained pressure. Eventually
taking the DRS & putting a fine move on the inside. Was able to
take the position back after Eu Rouge with DRS again & we both
continued to fight hard when Moss pitted Lap 12ish & I managed
the worn tyres to pit Lap 13 just as SC #2 came out. Pulled away
from Drew & then last lap, tyres were shot (9 laps on primes)
all RED & considered pitting (was definitely time for inters)
but figured a slow mistake free lap would be quicker than
stopping again so braked early each corner with Lean mix & won
by 10 sec, phew!
Race result could of been different if Moss was behind me at 2nd
restart or even Supanash but will never know.
Looking forward to Monza for another disconnect free race :)

guys no excuse but my old wheel had problem so i had to repair
it at fanatec, now im using my first wheel the (DFGT) today was
the first day i drive using it, took me a couple of laps to get
the feel of it but now i think im kinda liking it lol, hate the
padels, and shifter, gotta do some practice with no assist.
Q:3rd
only first run was decent, my second and third made huge
mistakes.
R:3rd
a 4 stop in 22 laps waw how much worse could that be, i think
one of my stops was useless, ull see that in my videa, i kinda
felt like hamilton in hungary, so at the start livolay made
great start and just gapped quickly i think he was using mix 3
to pull away before DRS is on, safty car was out lap 5 i think,
stopped for option, and as soon as the safty came in i went for
mix 3 and drafted livolay for a couple of laps , overtook him
once, but he got me back 2 las later, so i pitted early to
overtake him in the pits, so i pitted for options , as soon as i
got out i started shaving time off him and then hwta happens?
the safty car happens lol, i didnt know what to do i didnt want
to do, so i took another risk and pitted for primes, just stupid
if u ask me, since i had the frsh tires i was stuck for a couple
of laps and then it rains!!!! stayed for 2 laps on my primes
then when i noticed it started to get slippery i ****d at lap 22
for intermidiates i was 3rd came out of the pits 5th, over took
4th and supanash since were stugling and finished 3rd lol, like
i did noting haha u never know probably couldve been worse for
1st and 2nd place.
and guys sorry for my bad english :)

@ Drew
Yeah the fact that I've played this game heaps helped me make
the right decision.
I've had enough races with weather changes to know what to do &
how to change my driving to adapt.
Especially Spa where codemasters change the weather there more
frequently. Wish they did it more often at other tracks.
I'm sure if you stick at it Drew you will get some great
results, keep your head up buddy.
Buying a wheel couldn't hurt either, you play the game enough to
warrant the purchase. ;)

@ Supanash
Unlucky mate. Lose position to Moss last corner & then loose
another position to Striker due to time lag. ???

Livo I won't be getting any good results so long as you, nash,
and moss are classing the field....you guys are just too
competitive
A steering wheel may be in the budget for me this year, but
that's not really a concern of mine. I accept that I may not
necessarily be as fast as i could be with a steering wheel
setup, but I am dissatisfied that I'm not performing to the way
I KNOW I can perform with the controller because of stupid
reasons. That's what is more frustrating to me than anything. I
spend a decent amount of time practicing before the race to
tweak my setup (which generally speaking, I don't know what I'm
doing, just trying things out until it feels like it's quick).
And what do I have to show for it? A stupid glitch that this
game continues to show has.
Overall, between the 4 leagues that I play in over the course of
the weekend/beginning of the week, it was a pretty piss poor
performance across the board, as I could not find my luck if it
had slapped me in the face. If you guys weren't so damn
supportive and liked having me around so much, I would've did
what Castrol did and put this game back on the shelf at the game
store where I believe it belongs.
