Q3rd race 7th >:(
i think the patch is heaps better,to me with the set up i had i
was on the edge of my seat,the feel of the rear wheels spining
up was awesome...anyway
my race was jam packed of overtakes and nose to tail racing,so
much happened that i cant really remember much :)
had a DRS battle with GAZZA for about 4 laps till he tried a
pass at turn 6 and he mite of went on the grass and i "think" he
mite have recieved a drive thru...wouldnt mind seeing some video
footage of our little battle gaz ;)
had a nice little battle with drew aswell for a few laps..i gave
a nice love tap under drs on the big straight as i didnt know
which side he was going to,so i ended up going up his ass..no
harm done ( e.g kovalinen and webber at valencia last year it
was just confusion on my part)
last lap was were my hard work came undone i was in lean fuel
mode my right rear was glowing red,and at the 2nd turn i gave it
a little too much gas and spun facing the wrong way i recieved a
dangerous driving penalty so from 2nd to 7th..ohh well
well done livo,
well done macca great drive ;)

Race Report

Q: 7th, was 1.5 sec slower on my prime stint. Thought I'd give
that strategy a try again.
R: 4th, well we had yet another clean synchronous start which I
was happy to see as usual. Stayed in 7th behind Macca, Ben, and
Supanash. Since we were in such a large pack, I thought it'd be
smart to turn my fuel down to lean and just sort of ride the
back of the pack. Ben and Nash made a very daring pass on Macca
on lap 7, and when I tried to follow them through, I didn't have
juice. I turned my fuel up to rich and tried to drag-race Macca
down the last straight in sector 2 and outbreak him on the
outside of the hairpin, but he came over on me, and shut the
door. I tried again on lap 8, and this time I got airborne and
was sent way out into the hairpin and lost a second or two of
track position, so I pitted.
I entered the pit lane and for some reason my teammate was also
coming down pit lane? How did you wind up behind me Gary? Did
you have to pit 2 laps in a row? Anyway, I came out on primes
and tried running good lap times when suddenly the safety car
deployed. I had only pitted 3 laps ago, so I stayed out and was
very much surprised that all 4 front runners ahead of me all
came in for fresh rubber. So I led the field to the green, and
ran AWESOME laps like a true leader should. Finally, my tires
began degrading a bit and Gun and Livo both overtook me on the
same lap in both respective DRS zones. (Apparently I made
livolay spin at one point, don't remember how or when) I watched
them two battle as my primes were wearing quickly, and I came in
on lap 20 for options.
On the options I was running very well, setting personal bests
every lap, and one-by-one, all the frontrunners came back in.
The only car I could not beat out was Livo, and he came out
side-by-side with me into the carousel. That really did it for
me, I was now being held up with Livo on cold tires and Gun
quickly closing behind me. We ran as a trio for a few laps until
I came in for my final stop.
My last run on primes was pretty uneventful. I knew that both
Nashy and Gun were on very old primes, so I was hoping that they
would have to make one more stop, and as the final stages of the
race were run, the gap between Nash and myself went from 12 sec
to 3 sec. I passed Gun on the final lap when he was spun out in
the carousel, and took 4th spot, which was where I ultimately
finished.
I am pleased with my performance this week. Definitely ran a
hard, consistent, and impressive race overall, and I wish I
could give "driver of the day" to myself, but I'm going to have
to give it to Livo again this week. Livo your pace lately has
been absolutely remarkable and I think you have now set the
benchmark for getting around these courses the fastest, so
congrats on that man. Good job.

Qually 2nd had good pace, went toe to toe with gun for a few
laps and cut one to many corners and recieved a drive through,
safety car came out and was in a good position then made a
mistake and spun, my race went from bad to worse, ended up
finishing 6th, happy with that.
Driver of the day has to be Livo he got me in qually and went on
with it, good job mate. :)

3rd win of the season puts the Autobot in the Championship lead!

Qualified: 1st for the 1st time ever with a 1:08.3! Had little
preparation post patch just like everyone else but spent just
enough time to figure it out.
Race: Made a mistake at Turn 4 to let Gazza through on the 1st
lap but later took him on the straight.
Lap 6 I stayed out a lap longer as I figured it would extend my
lead with my tyres still in ok condition.
Came out of the pits on options behind Drew who must of started
on primes. Was losing time behind him & made a late move on the
inside at wall of champions. Lap 8 I think.
Contact & I spun with my car facing backwards against the wall
praying that I wouldn't get taken out or given a penalty as I
turned around. Racing incident I don't think Drew even saw me?
After making up a little bit of time I decided to stay out
longer with my worn options & swap from a 4 stop to a 3 stop.
Sure enough safety car comes out just when I needed it!
So I had Drew, Gun & Supanash (i think?) in front as I pitted
for primes. Race resumed & I got a great restart taking Supanash
at Turn 2.
Gun & Drew were in my sights & we had a great battle. When I was
able to get out of the DRS zone after taking Gun I managed to
lap similar times to him, always pushing just staying out of
touch.
Pitted on Lap 25 & needed to make my last stint on primes last
10 laps. Final lap & at turn 1 the tyre wear kicked in & I spun
losing 3-4 seconds. Heart was again pumping just like earlier.
Luckily Gun wasn't there to take advantage & Macca was still a
few seconds away. Relief as I passed the finish line. :)
I had the pace but it could of so easily ended badly with some
mistakes & good fortune with the safety car.
My Driver of the day: Macca good effort to finish 2nd. Would of
given it to Gun but for the last lap. Hard luck mate :(
A action packed race so I'm sorry if I left people out but you
probably don't wont to be reminded of me passing you anyway :D

I think its time for the Autobot to go to manual gears, that
might slow him down maybe and come back on level terms, haha. ;D

I thought the whole point of manual gears was so you guys could
go faster than using auto? ;D
I will switch to manual at Valencia ;)
