Monaco Points

Just got back home from a concert that I almost forgot to go to
after the race! Spent quite a bit of time thinking about the
race instead of enjoying the music.
Anyway, this is what I think:
- The race was a mess but it should not be re-run.
- The 5 drivers that managed to not get disqualified should get
the points as displayed on the results screen, even though that
means a slightly dodgy win for Macca! So that's Macca (25), Me
(18), Beno (15) Drew (12) yz (10)
- Livo must surely get some points. I think that crashing into
the safety car should be treated like a disconnection, so he
gets half points (12.5). I also think that we should have this
rule for the rest of the season.
- Gun should get half points based on the disconnect rule we
agreed at the start of the season (more than half race distance
completed). The trouble is that it's going to be really hard to
work out what position he was in because of the time delay. Any
thoughts on that?
What does everyone reckon?

Yep I've had some time to cool down & am happy to agree with
this solution.
Move on i say, after all it's just a game.
Even if I finished & won it still would of been a fairly hollow
victory due to the lag.
Well done to everyone that finished & commiserations to gun as I
know how you feel buddy.

Given the circumstances that this race was run under, I think
that's pretty fair Nashy.
Sorry to hear you had a video game on your mind instead of a
sweet concert! :)
Just spent an hour trying to get even CLOSE to your Montreal TT,
Nashy...I almost threw my controller at the damn system!! LOL

Ha. I've started putting a bit of effort into TT in the hope
it'll improve my online racing. That's not necessarily working,
but it does mean I've got decent times at Monaco and Montreal
now.

I was running in 3rd behind Drew when the safety car was
deployed and then went past him in the pits before i hit the
f...ing safety car after it told me to go past, does that mean i
get half points? as this was another incident due to bad lag by
the officials. :(

The SC was incredibly laggy for sure. I reckon Striker was
driving it!
If we're saying that a safety car crash is like a disconnect,
then you get half points if we're over half race distance,
otherwise it's just too bad unfortunately. I'm not sure when the
first SC came out.

iwas thinkin about last nites race all day at work today...
to qualy 1st and then sit on the start line for 20secs and
hearing everyones gear changes over the mic was frustrating..
and then to lose connection with 4 or 5 laps to go was even
worse...at that point i was 5th so yeah some points for that
would b great at least half of what 5th place gets....
or u could work it out like this.......if 3 or 4 of you guys
finished the race ( not sure how many finished) they get the
normal points ..then whoever lost connection or got the SC bug
they should be next in the order they went out...so livo,then
me,then gaz i think and so on....but only if they finshed 50% of
the race and we should only get half points.

First safety car came out on lap 17 or 18 i believe, which is
just short of halfway.

Yeah I think we already agreed on half points in the position
you were in when you get disconnected.
Safety car bug is now obviously included into that.
I know what your saying Gun but this would be the only race with
3 finishing so even though I would get the same points (12 for
4th) it wouldn't work with other races with the whole field
usually finishing.
So 12.5 (+1 for fastest lap) for me & 5 (half of 5th position)
points for Gun.
Although Gun you were probably further ahead than 5th with the
timing & lag all screwed up.
Reason I suggested a re-race was because so many of the field
were affected.
Me & Gazza - safety car bug
Striker & Gun - lag, disconnected
Macca & Supanash - different positions to time
I think Beno, Drew & Josh were the only guys not to have
connectivity issues?

I had safety car lag also...when Gaz got disqualified, the
safety car lagged and appeared about 2 inches away from me
(which caused my car to come to a complete stop and I couldn't
accelerate, but Nashy magically could)
