Race Report / Driver of the Day - CATALUNYA

POST YOUR RACE REPORTS HERE!
Q: Quali'd 9th on the primes...had a decent lap going until I
blew my engine, complete fail.
R: As usual, I found myself the only one facing backwards at the
exit of turn 1. Striker's lag was most likely the cause as I had
no known reason for getting hit. Rejoined the track and (I
thought that I) passed him at the end of sector 2, but turns out
he was actually up the track causing problems for Chris on the
front straightaway.
Race was pretty quiet for the most part..caught up to Kiwi and
had usual lag issues with him...his usual "stopping dead on the
track" while appearing a few 100 ft or so up the road, his ghost
wound up taking me out in turn 4 (I had turned off my mic by
this point to pretty much scream).
Cycled up to 3rd after some pit stops; Lap 14 Cam caught up to
and passed me, a lap later Gaz caught up to and passed me, and
then had some lag issue with Ben: approaching the last chicane I
couldn't see where he was and wound up punting him off the track
(I think...I don't even know) and getting a drive-thru penalty.
Served my penalty and had to do another lap on my crap primes.
Got fresh rubber on lap 17 and went back at it again. Passed Gun
on one of his pitstops, and then we both caught up to Kiwi again
as he was coming in for his pitstop. Wound up overtaking Gun on
one of his later pitstops (2 in a row?) and finished in 6th.
Not a terrible result, I suppose, but I KNOW I had the pace to
be running up further in the field. This lag issue I keep having
with others is really beginning to gripe me and making this
whole league a lot less fun. This is the 3rd race out of 5 now
where lag issues have hindered my performance (Malaysia and
Turkey were the others).
Oh well, my luck will change soon...it has to.
DRIVER OF THE DAY: Hands down should go to Livo. Seemed to run a
mistake free race (from what I gather) and pulled out a huge gap
to the guys behind him. Well done buddy.

First of all I'm sorry that some of you guys didn't have good
fun races and had connection/lag issues. :(
Kiwi with a DQ & so close to the end, Josh dropping out early,
Gun's collision & Striker disconnecting with 5 laps to go.
Does striker get points, what position was he coming?
My race was trouble free thankfully as pre-race i was praying I
wouldn't have connection drama's like I have been having
recently.
Started 7th on primes & took Supanash (also on primes) at Turn 1
where I went wide. If I remember correctly Gun, Striker, Beno,
Gazz & Macca were ahead on the options.
I managed to match the pace of the front runners & tried to pull
out a gap when they pitted.
Lap 15 my tyres were shot & I lost about 3 seconds on my in lap
which meant I had to overtake Gazza, Striker & then Macca when I
left the pits.
My move on striker was a bit brave as I came up next to him on
the inside of the sector 2 fast chicane (had a better exit from
the previous corner), tried to leave as much room as possible so
I wouldn't put him in the sand pit.
Did plenty of overtaking this week compared to last & can't
remember each move, most of it was in the DRS zone though & I
tried to be as clean as possible with each pass.
Was a very enjoyable & rewarding race for myself, just wish that
was also the case for more of you guys.

Had a good qually session but couldn't quite get gun, good lap
mate, started 2nd and had a very poor start and had to use curs
to stay in 2nd at the first corner, got gun on the corner of the
back straight as he went wide, thought i had a good position
going into pit straight and then seen gun taken out by beno
behind me, next minute i know livo is on my ass and takes me in
the drs zone on the straight, had no answers as he was probably
on auto and in the rich mix, cant compete with that driving
manual gears, have to look after fuel, I don't have a problem
with that but I do think auto gears has an advantage over manual
as you can run rich mix all the race which I did not know until
the comments made after the race at Turkey, anyway, pitted and
came out 6th behind striker and he had terrible lag, went to
pass him and got bashed for my efforts, macca came out of the
pits in front of me, those Force India guys must be working on
their pit stops haha, and tried to keep with him then Livolay
drives past me again in the drs zone on the straight wtf, drove
14 laps on prime tyres and the last lap supanash was coming at a
great rate of knots, my tyres were going off big time and he had
a lung down the back straight but over cooked it and i limped
home for 3rd place. Was another great race by all, the lag is
something we all have to deal with just some people get dealt
diamonds and some get stone, can't do anything about that.
Driver of the day would have to be Livolay, from 7th to 1st,
good job mate, congratulations on 2 in a row.

hey guys...
you cant use rich mix on auto gears throughout the race...at
least not in a Ferrari.
missing you already. :)

Q 1st R 7th
first off..i apologise for leaving abruptly after the race i was
really fustrated with how my race turned out.i think me,kiwi and
drew had a 1st class ticket to hell and back :)
had a good start and thats about it. once i was on the back
straight i realized i was using my qualy set up that = epic
fail. :o
gaz passed me,then on the entry to the shicane beno was on my
ass i had a slow run out of it and by the time i got around the
last bend the white arrow of death was moving from left to
right.i knew i couldnt match him for pace so i stayed on the
left of the track just as i passed the finsh line i got an
almighty shunt from behind which sent me doing 3 ballerina spins
and slamed into the pitwall ,then i just watched every1 go bye
with a damaged wing ...very lucky that was all...i tried to ask
beno "what was that all about" but to no reply.which im sure all
u guys heard me.now some say it was beno and some say it was
striker eithier way NO one gave the position back to me.. long
story short i had 5 pit stops and a drive thru penalty which was
un called for.as i was down shifting to turn into the shicane my
RHS rear blew i had no control and i cut the shicane that =
drive thru.
i didnt expect much from this race as i had 3 practice runs
during the week with u guys and ran out of fuel twice..cant wait
to get monaco out of the way and into some of my fav tracks ..
well done to macca 1st drive for the curry munchers excellent
job mate..
D.O.D. the autobot for sure great drive mate...and big props to
kiwi and drew for stickin with it ,cuz there was times when i
thought about driving my car into the pit lane entry wall and
calling it a day ;)
bring on monaco.....lol

Well first off I feel sorry for you guys that had a bad race...
Im sure we have all had that feeling of wanting to bin it and
call it a night. Im not sure If I could put up with what the
likes of Drew etc has had to put up with in the last few GP's.
Hats off to you Drew for stickin with it.
Qualified fifth which was pretty crap as I couldn't get a good
lap in. I could have been closer to gun but I wouldn't have been
able to pull of that sort of pace if my life depended on it....
well done mate!
My race was pretty good I suppose... still feel like the first
loser coming home second though :-\ Livolay, mate... I was
no match for your pace, at the start I thought I had an outside
shot at the win but later on I just gave up, went to cruise mode
to make sure I held on to second place and looked after the
curry munching machine.
My race was fairly uneventfull in comparison to my epic battle
with Gaz at Turkey haha. Made a few passing manuvers on the
likes of Drew and Nashy at different phases of the race. Think
for memory I passed Gaz in the pits after the McLaren boys tried
the undercut, It was close but I was quite happy too see the
silver beast still coming up the main straight as I left the
pits ;D
That first win of the season surely must come my way soon
(fingers crossed).
Really enjoy driving the force India after the red pig and am
pretty stoked to be teamed up with such an alustrious team mate
as Gun (no disrespect Castrol - you are a legend too ;). Think
we will do well in the constructors championship Gun. Roll on
Monaco... cant wait!!!

It's mainly cus I like all you guys so much :P
Thanks guys - and this is the sole reason why I put up with the
crap that I get dealt...is because I know it's for good
sportsmanship, and I always live by the phrase "never give up".
If I had given up, I would've missed the opportunity of getting
ahead of Gun in the later stages of the race.

Gaz, I'm almost positive that all I'm getting dealt are anvils

Was trying to figure out what "autobot" meant... Does he mean
I'm cool like Optimus Prime or fast like Bumble Bee? ;D
Then I realized no dummy, it's cause my car is on auto pilot
with auto gears :'(
When I learn to count from 7 to 1 I will be shifting gears
myself :)
Might take a while as it took me a while to learn my ABC's. :D
Thank god for Sesame Street ;D
