Online Multiplayer

Have any of you had a go with the cheats and rammers online yet?
I haven't. Sticking with the safe world of offline racing for
now!
If you have, what's it like? I've seen some people complaining
about losing ranking for collisions. Anything else different
this time?

Hi M8y.....
Just racing with the usual good guys, dont know about any
cheaters??.......if you hit somebody you lose 5xp, but then if
you have a clean lap, you get the 5 back.

Played a couple of quick games this afternoon, was absolutely
terrible.
With the terrible graphics that the game has, any race with more
than 12 people makes the game run a lot slower, and frankly made
me quite dizzy.

I was wondering about the public races really. The game seems to
allow a lot of corner cutting which can't be good for online
racing. Last year was bad enough when the rules weren't set to
realistic. I have a feeling it's going to be much worse this
year.

What problem do you have with the graphics Drew? I've only
played offline but, apart from a mysterious triangle appearing
in the sky one time, I've not noticed any graphics problems.

The graphics, frankly, are not too good. A lot of times (and
especially while playing with full grids) the picture is very
pixellated and the game just takes forever to load. In 2010, I
had a very crisp and clear picture no matter when I played, and
now I am just annoyed by the grainy quality I get. And I know
I'm not the only person who is experiencing this...others have
complained about the same sort of thing.
At the moment, I'm prefering 2010 over 2011, but I'm trying my
best to just get on with it and adjust.

I will second what drew is saying about the graphics. I still
have 2010 and put it in the ps3 the other day to check the poor
graphics wasn't just a incorrect setting on my tv. I was quite
shocked at just how much cleaner, crisper and smoother last
years game is. Codemasters I think have really let us down after
all the hype that surrounded the new version. As for the online
experience Nash I can only say I've played with our usual
private group which has been great. I have been wondering where
you have been as we havnt seen you online mate... Now we know,
your out of season testing before our league starts haha.

There are lots of people on the Codemasters site complaining
about the PS3 graphics, so it looks like a common problem. The
only bad graphics I've seen so far is when I spectated an online
race. That was terrible.
You're right about pre-season testing Macca! Last year I did a
couple of seasons of career mode before I even went online but,
with our league starting soon, I'll be forced to cut winter
testing short this time.
I did have a couple of online races last night just to see what
it's like. They were 20%, 2011 performance, sims off. I took the
Force India while everyone else was in the top cars. Someone
rammed me right off the starting grid in the second race, but I
still hit my objectives.
I think the new ranking system might work out well. Last year
you could increase your ranking just by playing a lot. This year
I think the rank might actually reflect skill and fair-play a
bit better. We'll see.

So far it has, Nashy. Kiwi, livolay, and I have both been on a
roller coaster of ranks this week LOL.
