I might have to miss this as well :( I'll try to make it, but if
I'm not online at race start time, don't wait for me!
Things have got really busy at work so I'm not sure how many
races I'll make over the next few months. I'd have been fine the
last 5 or 6 weeks while we've been waiting for the US patch!

So, I just about made it home in time. Pretty tough day at work,
so I almost just got myself a cold beer instead of racing! Glad
I logged in though. It was good to do a league race after the
long break.
Q - 2
Didn't manage a clean lap. Was only 0.2 down on Striker in my
final attempt at the end of S2, and should have made it round
for a low 1:34 at least, but got the chicane at the start of S3
wrong. Finished up nearly a second behind.
R - 3
Pretty much an extended version of quali for me. Struggled to
string together 3 good sectors in the same lap. Was hanging on
to striker for a while and almost got into DRS range. That would
have made things interesting! Instead I made some small mistakes
and he pulled away.
Was holding a comfortable gap to stubbs in 3rd, but that started
to disappear as my option tyres faded, and when I pitted on L12
I was only just ahead of him. I knew he was on primes and would
be staying out a few more laps, so I planned to try to get some
quick laps in on my fresh tyres to build a gap. Didn't work out,
as I almost spun at T1 three laps in a row! Gaz must have almost
run into me the first time. So instead of having a bit of a lead
over stubbs, I ended up only just in front of him again after
his stop. He got past under DRS at the first attempt. There was
really no point trying to defend it.
Livo was now not far behind, and I thought it would only be a
matter of time before he caught and passed me as well (I wasn't
sure which tyres he was on). He was gaining on me and must have
got close to DRS range at one point. Then I managed to pull the
gap out a bit and it remained at 2-2.5 sec for many laps until
he must have made a small mistake which gave me a bit of
breathing space. I thought he might have run out of fuel on the
final lap as the gap went up to nearly 20 sec, but it sounds
like he spun out somewhere.
Even though it was never wheel to wheel, I really enjoyed the
battle with livo, knowing that I had to try to stay out of DRS
range.
I'm not sure how many of the races I'll make over the next few
months because I know things are going to be crazy at work, but
I'll try my best.

Q: 5th. Primes. Something like 2.5 seconds off Striker. ::) My
PB was a 1:34.2 but that was 5 weeks ago & I haven't played the
game for 3 weeks.
R: 4th. Took Gazza for 4th off the line & couldn't match Cam's
pace who was also on primes. Supanash had similar pace to me
once he was on primes but my laps were inconsistent & as he said
I spun which was at the last corner on the penultimate lap. Need
to spend some time sorting out my wheel settings. It didn't feel
right at all.
Anyone know what was changed in the latest patch? Thought my
tyre deg was a lot higher than before.

Couldn't say if tyre deg was better or worse, as that's my first
online 50% race at that circuit, but fuel management was easier
than I expected. Ran on full revs for more of the race than I
usually can.
I don't notice any change in wheel settings between patch 2 and
3. Pretty sure I based my settings on yours livo, so I'm not
sure why you're having a problem now. Mine are: deadzone 1, sat
68, Lin 7 - env 0, FF 50, weight 50. It's not perfect but it's
ok

Q - 3rd Went out and did 2 stints on the Primes, i knew i wasnt
gunna match striker as i had done some prac with him earlier, so
i opted for Saubers "B" Plan Strategy. i only just piped gazza
on my last hot lap.
R - 2nd Happy with the result. was a very clean race from my
screen, i was side by side with nashy up to t1 but he had the
faster line, so i tucked back in and had livo inside me aswell
but i held him on out into t2 with the faster line, it took a
lap or 2 to get the primes grippy, and then i just worked on
managing gaps in front and behind, not much movement in the gaps
for a few laps was fun, it was pretty close really, like 1.5/2
secs to nash and the same back to livo, livo then backed off im
guessing his primes fading and once they do they are hard to
manage, he pits early, nash pits 1 sec ahead at the perfect time
as 1 more lap i could have been close enough fo rthe pass, i
stayed out till 16, and was struggling on that lap, losing a bit
of time, could have come out in front of nash and made the
undercut, sooo close
the options grip up qwiker then i thought and i knew i had to
clear him to maybe just maybe have a shot at striker who was 10
secs ahead. i did the pass under drs that lap, i then shoot of
and shave 1 sec per lap over the next 2 off strikers lead to get
it to 8 but then i loose kers for 2 laps pushing it back out to
9.5 i pushed hard for the next 7ish laps getting the gap down
into the 4 second bracket but im sure striker was just cruising.
Really happy with my race as i didnt make any errors, i missed
the apex on the hairpin maybe 2 times under fuel load but not
enough to run wide, kers failures but not my fault, missed the
apexs on a few others but nothing major, so i ran the near best
possible race i could, the top4 untill livo spun were runing a
very fast consistent pace, from what ive red and seen from other
leagues results, total race times sub 47 mins are good,PS3 Apex
racing league which i think has super fresks in it, at china for
example, Pole 132700, race time 45:49, Strikers pole 133700 race
time 46:20. good goin, but if we were in that league striker
woulda come 6th with that time me 7th and nash 9th, lol wouldnt
that be different

Seems the race reports will be posted here so I will post mine
as I don't think Gazza realizes the race report thread is
locked.
First of all, do we play with parc ferme in this league? I was
changing my setup all through qualifying, and I think that wound
up hurting me because I definitely did something that took a
wrong turn when I was changing my setup for the race. Oh well,
karma's a bitch sometimes.
Man, this race was just embarassing for me. I was running low
35s in quali while practicing with my teammate, but something
was definitely off with my wheel today ... it was so bad that I
felt like the wheel was actually broken again and therefore I
could not string a lap together to save my life. So ... I
thought I'd go out on primes instead, got myself a nice 10 spot
penalty and said screw it and I retired from quali.
Got off the line well, someone threw Gazza into my car at T1,
and off I went into the sand. lost 5 seconds to gaz and the rest
of the grid. From there I just drove very poorly on options.
Macca did a drive-thru and he stayed 5 seconds behind me for a
bit .. and kept Gazza at bay, until I started missing braking
points and driving like an idiot. I finally let Macca through
and he pulled away until he made a fatal error down at the
hairpin and was way out in the sand so I got the spot back.
Had no confidence in the car at all this race. I was very timid
and shaky on braking ... some turns I broke too early, some
turns I locked up, was just a mess.
I was catching kart on primes .. he just drove off the track
into the sand on the boot on one lap, then I hit the pylon on
the last turn, spun it and broke my front wing...came out of the
pits, got lapped, then got d/c a few laps later...just the icing
on the cake.
Hope I get my act together for Bahrain, cus this race really
took a big step back in my confidence level after having 2
decent races in my other leagues this weekend.

Prac ferme should be ON. Here I am pingin in 7th in q for a good
race car. Others might be gettin the best of both worlds. Unless
I've missed something in the regs.
