SEASON 2 HIGHLIGHTS AND LOW LIGHTS
By: camstubbs86 Date: July 25, 2012, 2:21 am
---------------------------------------------------------
now its completed state your season in a few highs and lows.
1st of i wanna say i had an awesome time racing here. when my
connection wouldnt have spasmotic episodes. cant wait for s3 and
i hope all the drivers i battled with all season stick around.
looking at u moss, livo, nash.
my season highlights!
Melbourne Pole - i signed up knowing you had some awesome online
racers and to get pole in the 1st race was a high.
Malaysia Wet race - i knew i sucked at wet weather racing but
held a heated battle with livo all the way untill 1 or 2 laps to
go when i made a small error gifting him the victory but i
finally had come to grips with wet!
China win - finally got the maiden victory i had been chasing.
Monaco Triple - pole, win, f lap.
Valencia Win - had no pace in q(6th) ended up with the victory
after a lucky incident free race.
Abu Dhabi Win - after 2 early spins to fight back and win on a
very fast race pace was very enjoyable
lowlights
Turkey 8th - just didnt have the pace
Canada DC - From 2nd with only a handful of laps left
Silverstone LAST - just a had one of those races
Korea 2nd - had a fast merc and should have won but nash got in
my way with his less stop!~haha
plus my connection and no shows
Spain was at work
Canada DC 5 laps to go
German work again
Italy DC and flouro track problems
Suzuka DC just before race.
Singapore DNS error couldnt connect.
but all in all had a mad time and my connection has improved
since india i think!

nice thread stubs.
heres my highlights.
china 3rd, my first points, i got 3rd place but wasnt
competitive enough had no setup for this track.
istanbul 1st, my first win even tho nash had the chance to win
it if i didnt spin him out on t1.
spain 1st, heres where i started to find the speed in the
mclaren, had an easy win and from here i started feeling
positive about my season.
monaco 2nd, didnt have the luck, qualifying 2nd and finishing
2nd, but to me it wasnt disappointing because after all the
drama i had i still got 2nd place.
canada 1st, maybe the only race in the season where i had no
drama and caught up to nash, livo and stubs after they scored no
points there.
valencia 3rd, even tho its my favorite track i had a disaster
race after i slammed in to the wall when trying to overtake
livo.
hungary 1st, after scoring no points in both silverstone and
nurbergring for lag and disconnection, i had to come strong and
start getting as many points as i can.
spa 6th, one of the most ridiculous races ive ever had since i
first played this game, spinning then 6 pits stops, still didnt
give up and battled to the end.
monza 4th, massive lag dropped me down and unfair penalties, was
happy that i still finished in 4th.
suzuka 1st, easy win but stupid pitstop couldve lost my win if
stubs didnt disconnect.
korea 3rd, cant comment on that my 3rd place was because i had
no pace to get the win.
new delhi 1st, even tho lag was a big issue with stubbs but
still had enough pace to win the race.
abu dhabi 3rd, my setup was killing me, couldnt drive any
faster.
brazil 2nd, penalty hurt my race and chances to win the
championship.
dnf:
melbourne, i forgot that i had a race that weekend and didnt
make it.
malaysia, i didnt have a setup ready for the rain so i decided
to retire because my car wasnt drivable.
silverstone, disconnection
nurbergring, after leading ben distroys his car and got glitched
from safty car.
epic season and i hope it will always be that good. thank you
all.

High Points:
- Melbourne; my charge through the field, in a race full of guys
that were still not used to no assists racing, I
shined...although it's my least favorite track in this game and
I continued my streak of drive-throughs here
- Montreal; only thing good about this race was I lucked myself
into the first podium of the year even though the race itself
was awful
- Silverstone; strategy battle with Gazza was awesome
- Spa; the most consistent and cleanest race I quite possibly
ever drove on this game, great battle with Supanash all race
long
- Monza; had a very consistent race and i finished ahead of
Moss!
- Japan; passed an HRT driver :o :o!! (Livolay)
Low Points:
- Turkey; PAUL
- Spain; my only turn 1 contact of the year that put me well
behind the field, although I did get fastest lap
- Monaco; couldn't wait for that race to be over really,
strategy and setup were dreadful
- Singapore; love the track but was racing on ice
- India; invisible wall, nuff said
- Abu Dhabi; see Singapore
- Brazil; first race with the wheel, but had virtually no
excitement and for some reason was just awfully slow...also got
lapped unexpectedly
Some other interesting notes:
- Couldn't have asked for a better teammate really, I felt like
my teammate and I had the same pace all season long. I've been
racing Macca online for well over a year now, and we get on
great and if it wasn't for him I wouldn't be here and know all
you guys and have such great racing and great attitudes and good
fellowship
- Came to grip with no assists really quickly and am happy to
leave traction control behind. Now that I have a steering wheel
I only hope to improve and be right on par and hopefully
challenging for more wins and podiums with the new games.
- Successfully introduced 3 new competitive racers to the league
since Hungary of S1, can all agree that the racing has become
more interesting accordingly
- Missed 2 races this year due to prior plans (China,
Nurburgring)
- 1 win, 1 fastest lap, 1 DNF
- 4 podium finishes (Montreal, Silverstone, Monza, Spa)
- I have yet to rage quit! I like to think I try my best to keep
my cool and stick the race out til the end and see what happens
(see Spain) ;D

Highlights
- 1st to last to 2nd in Turkey. Tangled with Moss at turn 1 and
ended up at the back of the pack, before coming through the
field for 2nd place.
- Pole, race win and fastest lap at my home GP in Silverstone
- Winning in Korea. Was pretty much my first online race at the
circuit, so to stay in touch with Moss and Stubbs and win by
stopping once less was a real highpoint for me
- End of season form. I was expecting to really struggle from
Singapore - Abu Dhabi, but it turned out that from Monza all the
way to the end of the season, I finished no worse than 2nd
- Pole in Brazil. I had a lot of problems driving in the wet in
the first half of the season, so I was really pleased with this
lap
Lowlights
- Valencia. Everything went wrong for me there - Paul lagging, 2
incidents with Moss, drive-through, lost front wing hitting
livo...
- Wet quali in China and Germany. I could barely keep the car on
the circuit
- Spa. Finally drove well in the wet, and was running 2nd with
just a few laps to go, when my wheel decided to do it's own
thing. Got yanked all over the track and eventually crashed out
on the final lap. Instead of winning (race leader livo had a
penalty) I came 8th I think.
Other
- I made it to every race apart from Montreal
- I got 6 poles, but only 2 fastest laps!
- In 2 seasons of F14FUN I have never been disconnected!!

Highlight for me was Barcelona where moss kindly helped me with
setup and I got pole which I didn't expect at all. Had an
enjoyable race keeping pretty good pace with moss and Nash until
my last stop an I chose the wrong strategy and tyres. Eventually
finished third.
Lows for me where china when I got a black flag coming back onto
the track from a botched pass on castrol at the hairpin. Dnf at
Valencia after a collision with moss and my disconnection, can't
remember the track.
Have had some great battles all season with the mid pack boys
and have really enjoyed the racing. Would like to improve for
next season although I know that will be easier said than done.
Perhaps the new game might suit my driving style a bit better.
Would like to also take my hat off to my teammate. Drew and I
have always been very similar on pace even back in the 2010
game. We have both had a few dramas but it does show how closely
matched we are to only have six points between us after a whole
season of racing. Don't know if any other league teams would
have such equal teammates. Would happily be your teammate in
future seasons my friend.
Thanks to everybody involved. It's not the game that's awesome,
it's all of you that make the game what it is. I never play
online other than with all of you.

High point of this season would have to be the last race as I
found out how to set the car up properly, thanks Cameron, thus
being able to run quick times and keep up with the front
runners. :)
Low points, first of all when they chopped through the cable
down the road and put me out when we were about to go racing in
Malaysia, was out for 2 weeks, and the second low point was
being abused by Paul at Budapest for something I didn't do, it
was his lag.
Over all I had a great time playing with all of you guys,
hopefully I can get my act together and be more competitive. 8)
