Race Reports - Canada

I may not make the race. Had to work late today and might have
to again tomorrow. So, if I'm not online at start time, don't
wait around for me.

i wish u guys had stayed, and the rest of my race was really
boring lol, i had a 20s penalty tho because a lag with paul
going slow and when i passed him he hit me and got a penalty.

did u pit again or were u running those tyres to the end. what
was your strategy?

yea i pitted lap 31 but i think i couldve taken my options till
the end, i would struggle tho.

I'm still at work!
Was it a dry race? Wondering what kind of times people were
posting. After a bit of practice at the weekend I was quite
confident that I could do well, but you never know how fast
everyone else is going to be.

That was a pretty frustrating race...
@Moussa - I don't think Paul was lagging for you, he divebombed
me at the chicane right before the hairpin and completely spun
himself out (you'll see on my video) and I was watching his dot
when I got through the hairpin and it looked like he was still
there and perhaps he backed up in front of you or something.
Just got to work and I got a quick project to do and then I'll
do my race report.

Q: 5th; car just didn't feel comfortable on the options so my
last attempt to quali I went on primes and set a 1:09.1
R: 3rd; (Pr3-Op9-Pr11-Pr12) great launch off the line and went
side by side with my teammate through turns 2 and 3, and then
got the advantage as Cam ran wide at turn 7.
I pulled away a tiny bit but I didn't have enough to get into
Livo's draft so Cam overtook me at the last chicane on L2. I
lost it at the exit of Turn 8 on that lap and lost a spot to
striker, but was able to get it back going down the DRS
straight, and soon enough I was right behind Cam again. I got a
better exit out of Turn 8 than him and got to turn 9 before him
and was on the inside, but as we were going around the sweeper I
got the tiniest of taps from Cam and got sent straight into the
wall and broke my front wing. So I limped around to the pits,
put on some options and soldiered on.
I spent pretty much the entire race by myself just trying to
make up time from there. I was able to make my options last 9
laps, so I got right back on to my old strategy again and in my
3rd stint I made too many mistakes and spun out, damaged my wing
twice from the red mist I was seeing. I overtook my teammate in
the hairpin on L22 as he had spun himself out on his worn tires,
and on the next lap we had an issue in the pits where Cam had to
wait for the team to change my tires and replace my front wing,
oh well...unlucky with that I suppose.
From then on I pressed forward setting good times and catching
Castrol, but he had ducked into the pit lane before I could
overtake him and then I went to work on Paul. I was catching him
and when I came out of the hairpin on L30, I saw striker had
spun himself out and Paul attempted to overtake him on DRS that
lap... he got all crossed up at the last chicane and I shot
right past him on the front straightaway. I was all over the
place on L31, so Paul was able to close back up on me quickly
and he tried a complete divebomb job on me at T9, spun himself
out and smacked the wall.
Didn't do a good enough job chasing down Striker so he finished
7 seconds ahead of me. Got my first podium finish of the year
but definitely don't feel like I earned it; I drove a pitiful
race.
I got frustrated for a little bit after the contact I had with
my teammate, but then just remembered that Cam probably didn't
know I was there and thought he had the pass complete. (I bet on
his screen I didn't even get to the turn 9 first!)This game
isn't allowing me to have good connection when I play you guys
from Australia/NZ for whatever reason. It's nearly impossible
for me to go wheel to wheel with anyone and it's making it a lot
less fun because I always have to watch where I am going and
make sure I don't lag-take someone out. I'm pretty sure Moussa
is having the same problems I'm having and I'm almost 100% sure
that was the cause of his contact with Supanash T1 of Turkey.
Oh well - we push on to another week. Good run Moussa.
