The first videos of the new game are out. Looks like they have
done something about one of my biggest complaints. You now get a
warning (and I guess a penalty after a while) if you leave the
circuit at any time. So it's not just for cutting corners, it's
for running wide as well.

Yeah we said that when we were playing 2010 also and look how
frustrated we all are.
Honestly just expecting the worst ... still wondering if I'm
going to even buy it or not.

I would like codemasters to have 3D image of the car and its
components, and when I change for eg. the ride height, the car
and suspension go up or down to the setting so you can see what
is actually going on, or change the camber you can see the
wheels tilt in or out. This is probably to much to put in the
game but it would help me understand the settings a lot more.

Some things that look like they will be in the new game. Like
all features they could still get pulled out before launch.
- warning for leaving the circuit. If all 4 wheels cross the
white line you get a warning. I'm guessing it'll be implemented
much like the current corner cut system, so it will invalidate
any TT or quali lap, but in the race you'll get a few warnings
before a penalty
- penalty for crossing the pit lane line
- parc ferme, with only minor adjustments allowed. Not exactly
sure how they will do this. Maybe you're forced to use the setup
that you used to set your best time in quali.
- bigger penalty for using assists. The weight penalty this year
wasn't enough to cancel out the benefit of TCS IMO. They say
it's going to be better in 2012.
- brake bias adjustment. you can move the brake bias forward or
back during the race
- fuel load for race. you can select to start the race with a
different fuel load from the default

I know we discussed this in the lobby Nash, but I will believe
it when I see it. ::) ::)
I also know that they have a couple of videos of how the game
would look, and a few simulations...but just remember that we
saw awesome videos for F1 2011 (with stellar graphics, if you
recall) and look at the product we got.
Codemasters just really isn't great with making a proper game.
There were problems on F1 2010, and more problems on F1 2011,
lets hope the pattern breaks for '12 but not holding my breath
tbh.
