Q: 6th; corner cutting like crazy, couldn't get a clean lap
in...so really tried to focus and just post a time/any time so I
was not very pleased with the time posted.
       R: 5th; {STRATEGY: P (10) P (12) O (7) } well after the crappy
qualifying, all I really wanted to do on my least favorite track
on the grid was to get the race without a penalty. Objective:
       failed :'(
Well, on the rolling start, my controller got stuck and I walled
it on the front straightaway leading to the green flag and
damaged my wing ::) ::), very stupid move. So I drove the first
10 laps with endplates missing off my front wing, the car felt
horrible. The combination of full fuel load, lack of downforce,
and the prime tires made the first 10 laps very trying. I caught
up to both Force India drivers who were battling hard for the
first few laps, and knowing that I could not make any sort of
divebomb pass, I turned the fuel down and slotted in behind. End
of lap 3, I see Livo at the bottom of the track inching along
and one FI goes right and one goes left straight into the wall
??? . So I slot in behind supanash, and on lap 4 between turn 11
and 12 I lost the back end flicking back to the right and took
the escape road (mirrored Rosberg from the GP essentially) and
       got a drive-thru penalty. ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
So I served my drive thru and came out just ahead of Paul, so I
put my head in the game from that point and hoped there would be
a SC to stack the field back up again. I passed Kiwi as he spun
on the front straight, and I was able to cycle ahead of Castrol
and Beno in the pit stop rotation (drive thru for Ben as well?).
Stubbs exited the pit just ahead of me from his pitstop so I was
sitting nicely in 3rd at this point, and I was judging on when I
needed to make my pitstop on when my gap started to drastically
increase to Cam ahead, and this happened on lap 10.
I put on another set of primes and stayed out 12 laps for my 2nd
stint. When I exited I had to re-chase down Paul, and within a
lap or two I overtook him under DRS. Next up was Macca and he
was about 6 seconds up the road. I chopped away at his time very
little bit at a time, and then on L17 I was right up behind him.
I went for the pass at turn 8 but I had to break super hard for
the turn and Macca and I collided and both went off to the grass
:-\, the engineer wasn't too happy about that but whatever. I
was able to overtake him under DRS on L18 into T1 and started to
slightly pull away. I cycled my way up to 3rd again and pitted
for my options. I was hoping when Paul crashed out that a SC
would come out to save my primes a little bit more, but wasn't
       meant to be.
Final stint on the options was great. I was setting a whole
bunch of purple sector times, but supanash always was the one to
steal the fast lap. I think I ran each of the last 6 laps in the
mid-high 1:22s, and I was closing on Gary and Livo heaps in that
last stint. I think I got the gap at pit out to Gaz from 13sec
down to a second and a half when we took the checkered flags.
I have to say that race made the no assists deal a lot more
interesting on a track that I can't stand. I definitely had the
pace to finish within a few sec of Cam and Nashy but the
drive-thru ruined all chances of that. Still it was fun coming
through the field and colliding with the reigning champ Macca
8), we'll see who the #1 Williams driver turns out to be as the
       season unfolds....
LOL jk buddy o mine :P
Great fun guys, the spark is back in me again, let's move on to
       Malaysia next week.

       Q: 2nd - Pretty happy with a 1:20.7 but could of been .2 quicker
:-\. Well done stubbsy for the pole!
R: 3rd - Gave stubbsy to much room on the start but managed to
pick him back up at the start of the next lap.
Lap 3 Going into turn 2 I smashed my front wing as Cam
backtracked 300m due to lag ::)
Was struggling to make it back to the pits without hitting
anyone & minimize the time lost.
Came out 22 sec behind kiwi with a set of primes, still set for
a 2 stopper with 13 laps on each prime tyre.
When I caught up to Beno I managed to pass despite lag but then
out braked myself at turn 2 & conceded position again.
Beno was pretty quick still on his options so had to be patient.
Had clear track due to everyone pitting & was racing Gazza for
3rd in the middle to late stages, reducing the 10 sec gap each
       lap.
Took Gazza using DRS iirc & managed to pull away.
Was praying for a safety car as I was 20+ sec off Supanash in
2nd but knowing the lag issue with Stubbsy a win was basically
       impossible.
Had Gazza catching me on his options when lag from kiwi slowed
me down & my tyres were shot but got the podium fairly
       comfortably.
Had enough pace for a win but that's racing - shit happens :'(
Well done Supanash DOD for me ;)

Qauli 1st - went out for an early 1st run on the PRIMES and set
a time similar gazza and supanash in the 1.21.600's and i was
sitting nicely in 4th, my original plan was to go P/P/O but i
changed my mind and thought id see if i can get the 1st pole of
the season. plan worked perfectly as i nipped livo by 1 tenth.
race 2nd - for some reason the grid was random? so we had a
saftey car start, which i thought went well, on shot of with
livo in pursuit then lap 3 he bombed out some how into t3? i
have it on the vid so check it out. i hope it was your error and
not a lag prob, from then on controlled the race till lap 29.
i pitted on lap 18 for options as my 12 lap yr old primes were
shot, i knew i was gunna run out of tread but hoped for the
best, in hind sight i should have put another set of primes on
oh well you live and learn, so i tried a strategy off O/P/O and
i ran out of puff with 2/3 laps to go, lol well done to supanash
i tried to make it hard as i wanted the win!!!! but nice
       overtake of the outside(check vid)
happy to have a strong performance in the MERC as it really
struggles at mayalsia so ive heard, so good to get a strong 2nd!
come someone tell me how to embed youtube clips?

       Me - "oh sh%t" when I hit you :D
engineer "car behind has a broken wing" ::)
the really annoying thing was there was no lag before it
happened so it really took me by surprise :o

       Q - 4
Did a reasonable lap on primes. Made a few mistakes but at least
it was clean. Like drew, I have a real problem with corner
       cutting at Melbourne.
       R - 1
One of my best races, especially when I started so badly. Made a
mistake at turn 1 after the restart and Beno got through. Got
back past him a lap or two later using up all my KERS down the
pit straight. By then I was quite a long way behind the leaders
in 4th but just concentrated on my own pace. I knew I had to go
12 or 13 laps on the primes, so was taking it fairly easy (I
have no idea if that actually saves tyres!)
I lost a bit of time behind Gaz at one point when his tyres were
shot but the rest of the time I was lapping ok, trying hard not
to cut corners. Stubbsy went in for his last stop with 11 laps
to go I think, and my race engineer said he'd put on options. I
thought that either my engineer was wrong (wouldn't be the first
time) or I might have a chance of the win, because I thought
he'd really struggle to get 11 laps out of them.
After my last stop, with 8 laps to go, I think I was around 6
seconds behind and started gaining pretty quickly on standard
revs. Then with 3 laps to go and only a couple of seconds behind
my fuel went red. Switched it down to lean for that lap, which
dropped me back a bit, then turned it up to standard for the
final 2. I thought that even if I did run out of fuel I still
had enough of a gap to hang on for 2nd, so I may as well go for
it. I could tell Stubbsy was struggling on his tyres by that
stage and just stayed calm and hoped I'd get a chance to
overtake. In the end I got past with just a few corners to go!
A great race from everyone I thought. Very clean. I felt quite
nervous throughout! Maybe because it was the first league race
of the season. I'm sure I normally lap a bit faster at Melbourne
but I was very consistent and managed to not get a corner cut
penalty, which is always a bonus for me at this circuit!
I didn't notice any lag from anyone. Definitely not with Stubbsy
at the end, so I'm not sure why livo got lag from him.

@ livo - yer i had a gut feeling it might have been a lag thing
cause on my screen you were just driving normally on track, i
hate it when this happens, i was looking forward to battling
       you.
@ supa - yer the engineer is usually right, he told me you were
running out of fuel with 2 to go and then you dropped back 2/3
secs, i thought dang i might actually get this but nope well
       done mate!
