So now that Smallville's over who should be TV's next liveaction
hero?

So Smallville is over. Should Batman get his own series now? Or
how about Green Lantern? Or is there someone in the Marvelverse
who needs a series? Maybe a series to run alongside their new
movie series? Let's speculate!

Marvel have a Hulk and Jessica Jones series in the Pipeline so
watch this space for those (especially the Jess Jone's one, as
if it takes it's cue from BMB's Alias it will be utterly
superb). As for a Bat's or GL series, I'd leave them on the
shelf and let that mythology alone (Bat's has been done to death
and GL would require an enormous budget) . Instead if DC are
planning anything TV wise I reckon they should consider
something like Matt Wagners Sandman Mystery Theatre: featuring
the original 1950's JSA crime fighter Wesley Dodd's in real
strange pulp mysteries full off odd characters and unlikely
metahumans. With stuff like Broadwalk Empire showing the
potential for retro dramas why the heck not

TV doesn't do heroes very well though, see the Wonder Woman
debacle for that, or at least you could if it wasn't so bad they
were burning all the negatives.

I've always wanted to see a Punisher show, HBO style. Speaking
of HBO whatever happened to their Preacher adaptation?

I think that the likes of WB and all need to start rethinking
how they present their properties. TV shows rarely have the
budget to do justice to characters and usually get restricted
due to some BS politics.
How awesome would it be to have movies and TV show linked,
passing stories from one to another? I believe they are trying
this with the forthcoming Dark Tower.
