I really like these birds - how they photograph and how tiny,
tiny they are... 11 grams and their head fit into the blooms.
The colours of South West of Western Australia. Subtle … sublime
IMO.... its really nice how I can stand on a veranda that is far
off ground level and reach out and touch the native tree which
attracts the native birds....and the smaller the bird, the less
scared of me they are and they actually start to come when I
them and show off. It was a great fun running out with the
camera trying to catch them before the fly quickly away. They
never stop moving. These little critters are wired.

We have a very lopped Coral Tree in the Chook’s pen… it’s
sprouted and the blooms at least feed the native birds. This
Coral Tree is a Brazilian native….

These Rainbow Lorikeets must have been very, very hungry to
attack the neighbours Cocos Palm and fight for food with the
bees… I had a dozen attacking this seed pod.. …. They couldn’t
even wait until they’d formed the berries. You just have to know
they’re very hungry in the first place to eat flowers.
