the man shook his head "we don't know what happened...the
soldiers and captains stationed here said that they were called
back home. we asked them who would protect us and he just shook
his head saying" i have my orders" and just like that they were
gone. no less than a month after they left Ghastlies of all
kinds have been coming to and from the mountains, using this as
hunting grounds....." the man looked at lowell and Adel "the
hollows are a group of are youngest survivors who have been
taught to scavenge for us....without them we wouldn't have made
it this long"
the masked man just stared at her "off the trail of one and onto
another that was one of my men" he said angrily "watch your
actions woman, you threaten the very little life we have left
with your throwing onto trails." he looked down to the city
"you're only lucky it's sun being chased, i doubt they'll catch
him" he snapped his head back to look at her and tilted it to
the side "so why exactly are you here......you're not a
survivor.....so who are you" the other masked figures said
nothing they just watched in silence.

Lowell crossed his arms and think thoughtfully on this topic
after closing his eyes. "Just as I thought... this is just too
strange. First of all, the guards and captains of Ving weren't
suppose to leave their posts at all without leaving some form of
protections. Secondly... There was no such order to begins with
as far as I'm concerned, so they shouldn't be called back in the
first place..." He said softly, mostly to himself rather then to
others. 'And lastly... if the guards never returned to resume
their posts despite how important this city and the citizens are
to the Ving... Then could it be the kingdom of Ving is... lost
as well?' he thought to himself, ignoring the memory of the
demon attack in his castle...

Katrina lowered her bow slightly, her eyes calm but still never
giving up her determination. [i]"If I inadvertantly threw them
onto a trail I didn't mean too. I was merely trying to asses
the situation and determine what they had been following. I
certainly didn't intend to threaten any life that remained in
this place." The young heiress thought for a moment before
speaking to her motives for being there. [color=darkred][i]"I
was with a group traveling the area, with the intent to pass
through here. One of the members of our group ran off ahead on
his own to investigate the city. I wouldn't be surprised if he
had gotten himself into trouble. I came to scout out the city
and attempt to determine where he ended up."

"....... i blame too quickly.....apologies" he said and looked
back at the city. he listens to her story in silence. once done
he turns his head to her "......they maybe with the others." he
looked at the sky and sighed. he pulled his mask off. he was a
young man around there age. his hair was black and sort of wild.
his eyes were calculating but not cold. "take a break
guys....we'll get back to it in half an hour." the other cloaked
figures sighed in relief, breaking there quiet mysterious looks.
"FINALLY!!" said one of the cloaked figures, her mask had a rose
drawn on the cheek. they all alughed and pulled there mask off.
most were around the age of fifteen and sixteen. they laughed
and joked with each other as they produced canistered drinks and
some food. the Lead er looked back at katrina. "give us a minute
and we'll take you.

Lowell walks up to Adel after opening his eyes. "We can't leave
them here... we will need more help if we want to help them get
out of the city..." He turn his attentions back to the others
and ask the same question. "Do you all wish to leave this city?
It is very dangerous to stay here, but if you do wish to leave,
then I will try to help as much as I can." he asks, wanting to
make sure if they all wanted to stay or to leave. If they do
wanted to leave, then he will need to go back to the camp and
asks the other heirs and adviors... if they would that is...

As he looked to the city Katrina let her bow fall to her side.
With a small lightening in her expression she shook her head.
[u]"No need for apologies, I can see myself thinking similar in
the reverse situation." She looked out to the city thoughtfully
as he continued to speak, her eyes dancing over his features
taking them all in. They were all so young, although what could
she really say. she was not much older. With a light fluid
motion she swept a stray piece of hair behind her ear. At the
ones outburst her lip twitched lightly towards a smile, and she
nodded. [color=darkred][i]"I would appreciate the aid when you
have your break."

the chance at escape made the survivors mumble among themselves,
a ray of hope. the man with the sword shook his head and
whispered "please don't feed them false hope. there are elderly,
women, children. the hounds out number us 10 to 1..........there
would be casualties that i don't want to risk.....plus is likely
setting into the afternoon now. and once the sun goes down the
Rahki come out....and there more dangerous than the Hounds." the
man shook his head "....theres no hope"
the leader nodded and crossed his arms. he walked away from the
group and watched the city for the whole duration of there
break. once done they all put back on there mask. "rose, star,
colt, happy......." he called to the four. " continue searching
the left Sector.....i'll take her to see of her friend is with
the survivors. while im gone, Colt you're in charge" the four
nodded and ran off. the leader turned anad looked at katrina
"lets go" he jumped and using steel wires he dropped himself
from the wall.

Lowell sighs softly and shook his head while running his hand
through his sandy blonde hair, wishing he would've think more...
He quickly pulled the guard man from the group. "Look, I don't
intend to give false hope, but I do wish to help in any ways I
can. But hopeless isn't going to do you better. I already know
that us alone is not good enough, but if I talk with the group
I'm with, then maybe we might have a chance with more numbers
and lower the casualty. Maybe, we will just have to see what we
can do, but just don't lose hope." He whispers to the guard man
and then he walked over to adel for a moment. "You haven't spoke
for awhile. You alright?" He ask softly, noticing he haven't
said a single word ever since they walked in here.

Katrina watched the men in silence as they took their rest and
watched the city. As the leader spoke she gathered herself
again and gave a light nod. [i]"I shall follow your lead." As
he jumped down she watched the motion and raised her eyebrow at
the wires. Without hesitation, she jumped gingerly off the
wall, firing an arrow into the wall with a rope attached, much
like a grappling hook.

"o-ok" the man said and rejoined his group. Adel looked at
Lowell "i am fine my friend" he smiled and looked at the group "
just thinking about nothing......you said something about
getting them out of here?"
as the Repelled down a scream echoed over the city from the
west. the leader quickly looked in that direction "SUN!!" he
said loudly, once he hit the ground he let go of the wires and
took off in the direction of the scream. he took shortcuts
through alleys and side streets to shorten the distance. he came
to a skidding halt in one alley. blood covered the ground, two
lifeless hounds slumped onto the ground. a trail, like a body
being drug led from the alley into an abandoned house. the
leader silently made his way to the doorway and peaked inside.
building was comprised of one floor and one room with a kitchen
and nothing more. the blood trail let into a corner where a
shivering cloaked figure lay. the leader walked over to the
cloaked figure and proceeded to hold them. the figure thrashed
and fought in surprise "Sun it's me" he said quietly and held
him until he stopped thrashing. the leader yanked off the
cloaked figures mask and his to look the boy in the eyes. at
once he stopped thrashing and looked at him
".......Jayce......i-it's really you......it's really you" the
boys eyes began to well with tears "i-im sorry jayce....they got
me....t-t-two of them cornered me in the
alley.......b-bit....m-m-m-me" he moved his cloak to show his
still bleeding wound. Jayce looked at it and quickly looked back
into the boys eyes "it's a flesh wound.....you'll be fine" his
voice was calm and calculating....but his eyes told another
story. but the boy believed him. he gives a smile
"i.......i......i.........." the boy tries to speak but never
gets past the first word. a tear rolls down his cheeks and the
life flees from his eyes...he was gone. Jayce said nothing he
continued to hold the boy.
