With a clap of his hands the magical disturbance disappeared,
and Soren was standing in front of her as usual again. "You did
Xia, you passed with all the grace I expected." He was quiet
for a long moment. "They would be proud."

As he said that she looked down at her lap and her vision
blurred with tears. "I still want revenge, I want to find and
kill the ones that took away my parents...but I also want to
bring peace back to everyone. I do not wish to see anyone else
suffer." she said softly.

Soren sat down next to her, and folded his legs under himself.
"That is understandable. Wanting to find those that killed your
parents is only natural. But the desire to help those that are
suffering, to not wish that on people, that is what makes you
the queen you are meant to be."

She shut her eyes and leaned against him. Forgetting she had her
own wound from earlier she passed out from blood loss.

Watching the young queen slip into unconsciousness, Soren shook
his head. Leaning over and picking her up, he retreated to the
cave which they had come to call home. Working steadily he
patched up her wound and let her rest. It had been a long day,
and her trials were just beginning.
