The cat pulled its paw back as it roared in pain. More anger
circled in its eyes. Seeing the girls staff begin to be
encircled with fire, the cat dashed at Luxia. Its claws sliced
through the air, intent on killing the young woman.
The second cat growled as it fell to the ground again. Dashing
to the left it avoided the blades, and started to climb a taller
tree. The boy shook softly in the fairies arm, his arm bleeding
steadily.

She raised her staff above her to block the attack "Damn it,
I've let it get too close, and I still need to get that kid out
of here!" she thought.
The fairy sent a blade of wind at the tree the cat was climbing
and began making its way towards Luxia as it was her original
intention.

The cat jumped back as his paw connected with her staff.
Prowling in a circle, it seemed to be looking for the best
opening.
As the wind blade crashed into the tree, the branch broke
sending the creature plummeting to the ground. In a sickly
crack, it got tangled in the falling branch and landed squarely
on its neck.

She turned, following the cat as it moved around her, a gust of
wind distracted her as the wind fairy floated down beside her
with the boy in her arms.

At the moment that the wind distracted her, the great cat took
its opportunity. Leaping at Luxia's right side, it bared its
teeth, aiming to bite her.

Seeing the attack the wind fairy wrapped around Luxia and yanked
into the air, though it wasn't fast enough as she cried out in
pain when she felt the sharp teeth cut into her leg. She swore
under her breath and the fairy moved them higher into the air,
turning into a platform. The flames around the staff vanished "I
can only use it one more time." she mumbled and looked o the boy
beside her.

The cat licked it's chops as her blood coated its mouth.
Glaring up at her and the boy as they moved out of reach, the
cat growled and circled the ground below her. The boy's eyes
were closed and his breath was ragged.

She set the staff aside and wondered what she could do "I can't
heal without the staffs power." she mumbled and clenched her
hands. She ignored her own wounds and looked over the boys "How
am I to get my revenge if I can't even use the power that is
mine by right?! This is so stupid what am I doing wrong?"

The boys arm was twisted into an unnatural position and it was
bleeding heavily. There were several bit wounds and it looked
like his arm had been torn into. He was slightly pale. The cat
below them continued to prowl.

She looked down at the cat, "All I want is to avenge my
parents...that's it , nothing else." she mumbled and a frown
formed at that as she realized her thoughts never went past
revenge. Revenge, is that all that motivates me? Even though I
do not wish to rule I must, because it's my duty to do so." she
looked back at the boy. "I do not wish to see anyone else
suffer, I want to protect as many as I can" she thought and
picked her staff. "Keep the platform steady, I will heal him
once this is taken care of." she said and jumped down.
